A wounded person is defined by the wrong things: Their wounds (past hurts). Their dark past (mistakes and failures). Their scars (evidence of past pain). A feeling of guilt and condemnation. Their own weakness, leading them to threaten others.
Wholeness is being defined by who you are in Christ, not by your performance, the praise of people, or your possessions. Your life is not defined by your wounds, but by the wounds of Christ (Isaiah 53). You are not defined by your dark past, but by God's mercy and the new thing He is doing (Isaiah 43:18-19). You are not defined by guilt, but by God's forgiveness (1 John 1:9, John 8:10-11).
