THE WORD OF LIFE CHURCH is founded on ten pillars called LEADERSHIP

The Foundational Pillars of The Word of Life Church: The LEADERSHIP Principle

The Word of Life Church is established upon ten foundational pillars, encapsulated by the acronym LEADERSHIP. These principles guide believers to lead effectively in every sphere of life, reflecting Christ-like character and purpose. These principles define the standard of conduct and spiritual expectation for all leaders within our congregation.

L stands for Light — Leaders lead by light.

A leader is a bearer of light. Where light appears, darkness must surrender. Light symbolizes knowledge, understanding, education, information, and skill. True leadership goes beyond merely possessing this light—it demands that we shine as the light of the world.

Matthew 5:14 "You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden."

John 8:12, "Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, 'I am the light of the world; he who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.'"

John 9:5, "As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world."

E stands for Excellence — Leaders lead by Cultivating an Excellent Spirit.

Excellence is not a polite label or an ornamental badge to pin on oneself—it is a deep-rooted spirit that drives every action. Mediocrity is a curse that robs potential and dishonors God’s calling. In Christ, however, excellence is our rightful portion, our God-given heritage, and the standard we are commanded to live by.

Mark 7:37 "They were beyond measure astonished, saying, 'He has done all things well. He makes both the deaf to hear and the mute to speak.'"

Daniel 6:3, KJV "Then this Daniel was preferred above the presidents and princes, because an excellent spirit was in him; and the king thought to set him over the whole realm."

A stands for Agape-Love — Leaders lead by agape-love.

In Christ, love is not just an emotion or occasional act—it is our defining identity and our lifelong career. Love in leadership is proven not by what we say, but by what we consistently do : serving without seeking credit, giving without expecting return, caring deeply and practically for the needs around us, showing up in the hard places with compassion that costs something.

John 13:35 – “By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”

Romans 12:13 KJV "Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality."

Galatians 6:10 KJV "As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith."

Ephesians 2:10, KJV "For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them."

D stands for Diligence — Leaders lead by diligence.

We are called to exercise dominion and rule in this present world—not as passive spectators, but as active stewards of God’s authority on earth. Leadership in God’s Kingdom is not passive waiting for breakthrough—it is diligent stewardship that turns God-given opportunities into multiplied results, advancing His purposes while prospering in every good work.

Proverbs 10:4 KJV "Lazy hands make for poverty, but diligent hands bring wealth."

Proverbs 21:5 KJV "The thoughts of the diligent tend only to plenteousness; but of every one that is hasty only to want."

Proverbs 13:4 KJV  "The soul of the sluggard desireth, and hath nothing: but the soul of the diligent shall be made fat."

E stands for Eternity — Leaders lead having eternity in mind.

Our highest calling is not merely to survive this life, but to share eternity with Christ in His glorious Kingdom—and to reign with Him forever. Leaders who lead with the end in mind understand that every second matters. Every minute counts. Every day brings us one step closer to that glorious, inevitable meeting with our Lord Jesus Christ—face to face, in His eternal presence.

Psalm 90:12 “So teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.”

2 Timothy 2:12 “If we endure, we shall also reign with Him.”

1 Thessalonians 5:9, KJV "For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ."

2 Timothy 2:12, KJV "If we suffer, we shall also reign with him..."

R stands for Responsibility — Leaders lead by responsibility.

Responsibility is exactly what the word reveals: RESPONSE + ABILITY. It is the capacity—and the choice—to respond effectively to whatever life throws at us, rather than react, retreat, or rationalize.

1 Thessalonians 2:4, KJV "But as we were allowed of God to be put in trust with the gospel, even so we speak; not as pleasing men, but God, which trieth our hearts."

Romans 14:12, KJV  "So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God."

S stands for Stewardship — Leaders lead by stewardship.

Jesus left us the ultimate blueprint for leadership: the example of servanthood. He—the King of kings, the Lord of lords—did not come to be served, but to serve and to give His life as a ransom for many. He washed dusty feet, touched the untouchable, fed the hungry, and laid down His life in the greatest act of service the world has ever seen.

1 Peter 4:10, KJV "As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God."

H stands for Honor — Leaders lead by honor.

We are called to be people of honor. Honor is not something we chase through manipulation, flattery, or performance. It is a life posture rooted in dignity, character, and reverence—first toward God, then toward ourselves, and flowing naturally toward others.

1 Samuel 2:30, KJV "...for them that honor me I will honor..."

I stands for Integrity — Leaders lead by integrity.

Integrity leaves no room for compromise, corruption, or alteration of God’s Word. It is the non-negotiable foundation of kingdom leadership. Integrity is not a skill or a strategy—it is character in its purest form: the seamless alignment between who you are in the hidden places and who you appear to be in the public eye.

1 Kings 22:14, KJV "And Micaiah said, As the LORD liveth, what the LORD saith unto me, that will I speak."

Jeremiah 23:28, KJV "He that hath my word, let him speak my word faithfully..."

2 Corinthians 2:17, KJV "For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ."

2 Corinthians 13:8, KJV "For we can do nothing against the truth, but for the truth."

P stands for Prayer — Leaders lead by prayer.

We can do nothing without Christ. We are nothing without Christ. He is our everything. These are not poetic exaggerations—they are the raw, unchanging reality of kingdom leadership.

John 15:5, KJV "I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing."
