7-Day Devotional: “Who Is a Stranger?” | Day 5: Jealousy Is The Beginning Of Witchcraft  

Scripture: 

1 Kings 3:26 (NKJV) – “Then the woman whose son was living spoke to the king… ‘O my lord, give her the living child, and by no means put him to death!’ But the other said, ‘Let him be neither mine nor yours, but divide him.’”  

The false mother’s jealousy was so deep that she’d rather destroy the child than see the other woman blessed. This is the spirit of witchcraft—envy that seeks to cancel another’s joy.  

Jealousy turns friends into strangers. It poisons churches, families, and ministries. When someone resents your promotion, your healing, or your peace, their heart has already distanced itself from love.  

Application: 

Examine your own heart. Do you celebrate others’ success—or feel threatened by it? Confess any envy. Also, identify relationships where your blessings are met with subtle resentment.  

Closing Prayer:  

God, cleanse me from every root of jealousy. And protect me from those whose envy seeks to steal my peace. Let love, not competition, define my relationships. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
