KINGDOM BIBLE STUDY | WHAT WILL BE YOUR LEGACY TO THE NEXT GENERATION | TUESDAY 30-05-2023

KINGDOM BIBLE STUDY | WHAT WILL BE YOUR LEGACY TO THE NEXT GENERATION | TUESDAY 30-05-2023

CHAPTER 1 | WHAT IS A LEGACY?

● A "legacy" is defined as "a gift...left to someone...," and "anything handed down from the past, as from an ancestor."

● Proverbs 13:22 (NKJV)  “A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children.”

● 2 Timothy 1:5 For I am mindful of the sincere faith within you, which first dwelt in your grandmother Lois, and your mother Eunice, and I am sure that it is in you as well.

● 2 Tim. 3:15 Through them, he had “from childhood… known the sacred writings which are able to give [him] the wisdom that leads to salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus”

CHAPTER 2 | WHAT WILL BE YOUR LEGACY? CURSES OR BLESSINGS?

● 2 Kings 4:1 ... Now cried a certain woman ...

● He died and left a legacy of a crying woman, unpaid debts, a poor woman and slave children

● A legacy of blessings or of curses? Of assets or of liabilities? Of an united family or of a scattered family? Of bank overflow or of debt? Of unsolved battles or of outstanding victories? Of a life the next genetation will be proud of or ashamed of?

CHAPTER 3 | 4 WAYS PARENTS LEAVE A LEGACY

● WAY 1 |  How you carry your life NOW as a parent is a legacy  to your children.

● 2 Kings 4:1  starts with ... NOW ...

● Parents are farmers. Children are fields :

- What are you sowing in them?

- What you sow in your children is what you will reap.

● Parents with character issues cannot be effective. Parents must be the model their children would follow ...

● Exodus 2:12 KJV And he looked this way and that way, and when he saw that there was no man, he slew the Egyptian, and hid him in the sand.

● Acts 7:26-29 NIRV "The next day Moses saw two men of Israel fighting. He tried to make peace between them. 'Men, you are both of Israel,' he said. 'Why do you want to hurt each other?'  "But the man who was treating the other one badly pushed Moses to one side. He said, 'Who made you ruler and judge over us? Do you want to kill me as you killed the Egyptian yesterday?' (Exodus 2:14) When Moses heard this, he escaped to Midian. He lived there as a stranger. He became the father of two sons there.

● As a parent, can you  tell your children like Paul, "Be followers of me"?

1 Corinthians 11:1   Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.

1 Corinthians 4:15-16 For though ye have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet [have ye] not many fathers: for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel. [16] Wherefore I beseech you, be ye followers of me.

WAY 2 :  The doors you open today as parents will be the legacy to your children tomorrow.

● The man of God told the woman in verse 4 "Shut the door on you and on your children"

What does it mean?

● Parents are gates.

● Parents, consciously or unconsciously open doors to the enemy which give him a footstool to attack, strike, destroy, steal and kill the next generation.

● That man opened a door to the enemy in his life and the children after him were victims.

● How parents  open the door that affect the next generation?

WAY 3 | Lot's foolish words of covenant with the people of the land opened a door of curse to his daughters

● Genesis 19:8 Behold now, I have two daughters which have not known man; let me, I pray you, bring them out to you, and do you to them as is good in your eyes: only to these men do nothing; for therefore came they under the shadow of my roof.

What does this statement mean?

1- They are virgins/unmarried

2- He is offering them to be raped and abused

3- He is placing a curse on them. It is like saying, "I will bring them out to you so you can abuse them as it shall please you

● What is wrong with Lot? Why offering your precious daughters for free? How can you spare your visitors and expose your daughters to be raped? abused? How will you feel to see your daughters abused sexually? Don't you have good plan for your daughters?

● It is clear by his declaration that Lot as a father did not have any plan for his daughters. As a result of his declarations, his daughters never got married. They became pregnant from their father.

● As parents, what is your plan for your children?

● God has a plan for each one of our children. (Jeremiah 29:11).

● God has a prophecy for each one of our children. (1 Timothy 1:18).

● We must engage warfare prayers on our knees for the plan and the prophetic words over their lives to be fulfilled.

WAY 4 | Israel's fathers opened a door through self-curses that affected many generations after them.

● Self imposed curses are those negative words we speak out discouragement, doubt or unbelief or anger.

● They are curses we bring unto ourselves both by our words and by our attitudes

● Esau despised the birthright and denied generations after him the opportunity to be called God of Esau

● Matthew 27:25 Then answered all the people and said, "His blood be on us, and on our children!"

What does it mean?

● Let the responsibility for his blood be on us and on our children

● We and our families will take the blame for his death

● The responsibility for killing him will rest on us and on our children

● By this declaration, they released Barabbas at the expense of the next generation

● History note: During the second war Hitler killed nearly 1,000,000 Jews denying them from proper food, health care, construction of camp for systematic murder

● The Nazi killed more than 10 million people including 6 million Jews

CHAPTER 4 | SHUT THE DOOR

WAY 1 | Shut the door through your words

● Words have power.

● Proverbs 18:21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue

● 4 R : Repent | Revoke | Replace | Remember the covenant

● Acts 18:6 Your blood be upon your own head. I am clean.

● Galatians 3:13 I am blessed and not cursed

WAY 2 | Shut the door through the blood

1- Blood speaks

● Hebrews 12:24 KJV And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.

2- Blood transfers generational characters

● 1 Peter 1:18-19 KJV Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;

[19] But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:

3- Blood can pursue and even kill the innocent

● Deuteronomy 19:6 AMP Otherwise the avenger of blood might pursue the offender in the heat of anger, and overtake him, because it is a long way, and take his life, even though he did not deserve to die, since he did not hate his neighbor beforehand.
