BREAKING MARITAL STAGNATION PART 2
(KILL THE SPIRIT OF VASHTI)
SCRIPTURE
Esther 2:17 "And the king loved Esther above all the women, and she obtained grace and favour in his sight more than all the virgins; so that he set the royal crown upon her head, and made her queen instead of Vashti."
The spirit of Vashti is an evil spirit that makes many relationships to be stuck and to stagnate today. Who is Vashti ? Vashti is the wife to the king of Persia called Assuerus. According to Scriptures, she was beautiful as we can read in Esther 1:11, "She [was] fair to look on."
One day the king requested her to appear in front of all his officials because he wanted to honor her beauty publicly. Unfortunately, in verse 12, the Bible says that "she refused to come". We are not told the reason behind her refusal but the Bible makes it clear that her public act of disobedience angered the King and caused her to lose her position as queen and as spouse and to be disgraced for ever.
I have nothing to say about the king's decision disgracing his wife because she has refused to come but I have many things to say about that spirit which is a spirit that is killing and destroying many families today all over the world.
The same way Vashti lost her honor, her glory, her crown, the same way many couples nowadays are losing their honor, their glory and their crown because of that spirit.
What are the spirits behind the spirit of Vashti ?
a) The spirit of Vashti is the spirit of pride
b) The spirit of Vashti is the spirit of disobedience
c) The spirit of Vashti is the spirit of familiarity that causes the couple to despise one another, to disrespect one another, to ridicule one another, to never appreciate one another's effort, to expose the weakness of one another etc.
d) The spirit of Vashti is the spirit of folly causing one partner to misbehave publicly in a way that brings shame to the other partner to the point of humiliation.
e) The spirit of Vashti is the spirit that causes partners to take one another for granted.
f) The spirit of Vashti is the spirit of selfishness causing both or one of the partners to be self-centered and self-oriented acting without considering the effects on the other partner.
g) The spirit of Vashti is the spirit of the devil himself controlling some couples thereby preventing them from enjoying the blessedness of their marriage.
h) The spirit of Vashti is the spirit that causes some partners to deprive their partners of their sexual right without any valid reason just for the sake of inflicting them what they call themselves "punishement"
i) The spirit of Vashti is the spirit that causes some ladies and some gentlemen to never last in relationships. They jump from one relationship to another accusing others and making themselves victims while the real reason is their own misbehavior.
j) The spirit of Vashti is the spirit of disgrace, the spirit of rejection, the spirit of dishonor, the spirit that will cause you to make mistakes with irreversible consequences.
WHAT TO DO?
1) Kill this spirit by casting it out of you before it kills you, cast you out of your marriage and causes it to collapse.
2) Please keep in mind that you are not better than anyone and that there is always someone better than you. Be careful and be humble because the same way Vashti was replaced God can replace you anytime.
3) Please know that the marriage you take for granted, somebody else is fasting and praying for years to get it.
4) It is possible to be single and struggle to be properly married because of that evil spirit. It is possible also to be married and fail to enjoy your marriage because of it. Pray from the depth of your heart to be delivered or contact an anointed servant and man of God who will help you through it.
PRAYER GUIDELINES
PRAYER 1 Reject these evils, which befell Vashti, one after the other:
- I will not lose the glory that I am already established in (Esther 1 verse 19)
- I will not be ejected from honour and I will not display folly (Esther 1 verse 12)
- I will never find myself in a position of no mercy and having no advocate (Esther 1 verse 21)
- I will not find myself where I will be judged by a single act of mistake and all my past good works have been forgotten (Esther 1 verse 12)
- I will not be replaced (Esther 2 verse 17)
- People that have a voice will not decide against me (Esther 2 verse 21)
- People that carry veto power will not decide against me (Esther 2 verse 22)
PRAYER 2 | Father, endue me with the spirit of obedience so that I will not be misplaced, so that no one will take my place, so that no one will replace me where you have positionned me. In the Name of Jesus Christ, I rebuke the disobedient spirit of Vatshi.
Pray with 1 Samuel 15:28 And Samuel said unto him, The LORD hath rent the kingdom of Israel from thee this day, and hath given it to a neighbour of thine, [that is] better than thou.
PRAYER 3 | Lord, fill me with the spirit of humility, lowliness of mind and meekness so that I will never take for granted your grace upon my life. Please, keep me always conscious of the fact that I am not better than anyone and that there is always someone better than myself.
Pray with 1 Samuel 15:28 And Samuel said unto him, The LORD hath rent the kingdom of Israel from thee this day, and hath given it to a neighbour of thine, [that is] better than thou.Pray with Romans 3:9 What then? are we better [than they]? No, in no wise: for we have before proved both Jews and Gentiles, that they are all under sin;Pray with Philippians 2:3 [Let] nothing [be done] through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.
PRAYER 4 | Disobedient Vatshi was disqualified and disgraced so that the obedient Esther should be qualified to sit on the throne. Obedience is the highway to enthronement. Help me Lord.

Esther 2:20 Esther had not [yet] shewed her kindred nor her people; as Mordecai had charged her: for Esther did the commandment of Mordecai, like as when she was brought up with him.
