2017 IS NOT YET FINISHED ... "I WILL FINISH WELL"

TUESDAY 19.12.2017
I WILL FINISH WELL ...

Today's meditation is just about giving us an opportunity to think through and weigh our actions and our present life. We would like to have a brief look at some biblical figures and compare how they lived and how they ended their lives.

The purpose is simply to awake us and to make us more aware of how we live in the world and to cause us decide on how we will finish our race in this world.

Let us have a look and study Judas the apostle and the thief on the cross.
  • Judas started as an apostle but finished as a traitor.
Judas Iscariot was an apostle of Jesus. He spent 3 years with Jesus. He saw the miracles Of Jesus. He even performed mighty miracles. But at the end of his life he committed suicide and failed to share the eternity with Jesus Christ
"And he cast down the pieces of silver in the temple, and departed, and went and hanged himself.: (Matthew 27:5

  • The thief on the cross lived as a thief but finished saved
The thief on the cross spent only some hours with Jesus. He was not among the apostles. He was not a right person. But at the end of his life he was promised to share the  eternity with Jesus Christ.
"And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in paradise.: (Luke 23:43)

APPLICATION

Lesson 1 : You don't choose how you come in the world but you choose how you live in the world and how you will leave the world.

Lesson 2 : Always keep the end in mind because the end is better than the beginning. No matter how ugly was the beginning, the end can still be glorious.
"Better [is] the end of a thing than the beginning thereof: [and] the patient in spirit [is] better than the proud in spirit." (Ecclesiastes 7:8)
"Though THY BEGINNING WAS SMALL, yet THY LATTER END SHOULD GREATLY INCREASE." (Job 8:7)
"So the LORD BLESSED THE LATTER END OF JOB MORE THAN HIS BEGINNING: for he had fourteen thousand sheep, and six thousand camels, and a thousand yoke of oxen, and a thousand she asses." (Job 42:12)
Lesson 3 : To finish well is not a slogan. Like Paul the Apostle, you will have to fight a good fight and you will have to keep the faith.

2 Timothy 4:7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished [my] course, I have kept the faith:
CONCLUSION AND PRAYER

I do not know how 2017 has started. I do not know how ugly, how miserable, how hard, how difficult and how tough it was, but I know  that Job 8:7 and Job 42:12 are God's words for you.

You can therefore declare and confess with boldness and faith,
"Though MY BEGINNING WAS SMALL, yet MY LATTER END WILL GREATLY INCREASE." (Job 8:7)

"The LORD WILL BLESS THE LATTER END OF MY LIFE MORE THAN THE BEGINNING ... (Job 42:12)

WITH THOSE WORDS, PRAY ! PRAY ! PRAY !
