KEY NUMBER 1 :
IT IS MORE BLESSED TO GIVE THAN TO RECEIVE
I know that at the beginning of each year, it's a costum to wish one another good things for the new year. I know we do it as a custom, but I believe we should go beyond a mere costum to take time to think and ask ourselves some relevant questions about "what to do to make the year 2018 a year of happiness, a year of success, a year of prosperity and a year of blessing."
For this reason, I invite each one of us to spend 12 days of meditation on what we must do to make the most of the new year 2018.
KEY NUMBER 1 IT IS MORE BLESSED TO GIVE THAN TO RECEIVE
Acts 20:35 "I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive."
Once a group of 50 people were attending a seminar. Suddenly the speaker stopped and started giving each one a balloon.
Each one was asked to write his/her name on it using a marker pen. Then all the balloons were collected and put in another room. Now these delegates were let in that room and asked to find the balloon which had their name written, within 5minutes.
Everyone was frantically searching for their name, colliding with each other, pushing around others and there was utter chaos. At the end of 5minutes no one could find their own balloon. Now each one was asked to randomly collect a balloon and give it to the person whose name was written on it. Within minutes everyone had their own balloon.
The speaker began - Exactly this is happening in our lives.
Everyone is frantically looking for happiness all around, not knowing where it is.
Our happiness lies in the happiness of other people. Give them their happiness, you will get your own happiness. And this is the purpose of human life.
IN 2018,
- Stop focusing and praying only for yourself, for your family, for your children, for your needs or for your life. Break this vicious cycle and start showing interest and praying for families, children and the needs of others around you.
- Stop living only for yourself. Start living for others (the poor, the feeble, the needy ...).
As long as Job was only praying for him, his case never improved, but was getting worse. When he prayed for his friends, the Bible says that God changed his woe to happiness and gave him back double what he lost.
This is what we read in Job 42:10
"And the LORD turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before."
