⏩ COVENANT OF PREVAILING PRAYER ⏪ DAY 22 "PLUG TO OTHERS'TESTIMONIES"

"He cometh to Bethsaida; and they bring a blind man unto him, and besought him to touch him... " (Mark 8:22 KJV)

Today's text is about a blind man brought to Jesus. The Bible says nothing about who were those men. No mention of names is made but one thing is mentioned in verse 22,
". . . they besought him to touch him . . . ".
I believe that those men saw the hand of Jesus touching and performing wonders in others' lives.

I also believe that even if they have not seen but for sure they have heard testimonies from people who have experienced the miracle working power of Jesus' hand.

They therefore believed that if Jesus' hand did it before, they were next in life for testimony

Brethren, there is power in testimony.  What does it mean? It means 3 things :

1) Testimonies are spiritual seeds meant to be replicated.

Anytime you hear someone testifying on the Lord's doing over his life, be spiritual and sensitive enough to understand that any testimony of the Lord's doing is pointing you to your own testimony.

From Scriptures, it is clearly established that God is unchanging and is not respecter of persons as it is written

in Malachi 3:6
"For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore you sons of Jacob are not consumed."
and in Acts 10:34
"Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons"

Because God is unchanging and not respecter of persons, whatever God does to one can be done to anyone who is willing to follow the same steps.

2) Testimonies are spiritual faith-boosters.

It is important to understand that testimonies are not only what you say but also what people see even when you say nothing.

In John 11:45, the Bible gives us a clear example of Lazarus' resurrection. Lazarus had no need to tell anyone his story because it was obvious and the whole city knew that he was dead for four days and came back to life.
"Then many of the Jews which came to Mary, and had seen the things which Jesus did, believed on him."
Testifying what God has done creates room for faith and boosts the faith of the hearers as it is written in Romans 10:17,
"Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God."

3) Testimonies are spiritual magnet meant to draw men to God

After Jesus has cast the demons out of the possessed man to the pigs, we read in Luke 8:35 that "... people came to Jesus..."

In Mark 5:27, the Bible shows us that the woman with blood issue came to Christ not because she knew him but because she heard of him.
"When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment."

In Mark 7:25 again, the Syro Phenician woman who had a daughter with an unclean spirit never saw Jesus and never knew Him but came to him because she heard of him.
"For a certain woman, whose young daughter had an unclean spirit, heard of him, and came and fell at his feet"

WHAT TO DO?

1) Believe that God is not respecter of persons. What he did to some people in the Bible and in our time He is also able to do the same for you.

2) You don't need to be a pastor or an evangelist to testify the doing of the Lord. You just need to open your mouth and share what the Lord has done for you like this blind man who was simply saying and declaring,
"Whether he be a sinner or no, I know not: one thing I know, that, whereas I was blind, now I see." (John 9:25)

No matter how little it might sound in your eyes, you never know the impact it can have in someone's life.

The Samaritan woman has never been in any school of theology. She just opened her mouth and told her people,
"Come, see a man, which told me all things that ever I did: is not this the Christ?" (John 4:29)

Guess what? Just through this simple statement, the whole city came to Christ and believed in him as we read in John 4:30,
"Then they went out of the city, and came to him."

3) A testimony is not replicable only when you hear it but also when you make up your mind to do what the testifyier did.
Romans 4:12 "And the father of circumcision to them who are not of the circumcision only, but who also walk in the steps of that faith of our father Abraham, which he had being yet uncircumcised."

4) Believe you are next in line . . .
Acts 3:5 "He gave heed to them, expecting to receive something of them."

PRAYER POINTS

1. Pray that the Lord grants you the grace to be sensitive and receptive to his doings in others' lives

2. Pray that the Lord to endue you with expectant faith so that you will also have a testimony to share to the world

3. Pray that the Lord will cause your life to be a living testimony of his doings

4. Pray for Jesus' touch over the situation that bothers you

IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST !
JESUS IS LORD !
