Anyone desiring an encounter with God’s power, the address or the place of encounter is in the Word as it is written in Ecclesiastes 8:4,
“Where the word of a king [is, there is] power …”
The writer of the Book of Hebrews
confirms it in Hebrews 4:12 saying,
“The word of God [is] quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and [is] a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
Concerning Jesus Christ, we all know
that He is the Word made flesh. He is the incarnation of the Word being himself
the Word. Throughout his entire ministry on the earth, we see an indubitable combination
of the Word and the Power. It is like for Jesus, you cannot take one and leave the
other. You cannot have one and not have the other.
We find it in those texts:
Matthew 22:29 “Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.”
Luke 4:32 “And they were astonished at his doctrine: for his word was with power.”
Luke 5:17 “And it came to pass on a certain day, as he was teaching, that there were Pharisees and doctors of the law sitting by, which were come out of every town of Galilee, and Judaea, and Jerusalem: and the power of the Lord was [present] to heal them.
In the footsteps of his Master, Paul the
apostle was also a word-addicted and power-addicted minister of the Gospel. In all
his writings and throughout his ministry, there is no way Paul would disconnect
the Word of God with the Power of God. It is like for him, the two are always
together. They are inseparable and indissoluble like hydrogen and oxygen in the
water.
Let us confirm it from some of his
epistles:
In Romans 1:16, he declares, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
In 1 Corinthians 2:4-5, he says, “My speech and my preaching [was] not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.”
In 1 Thessalonians 1:5 he writes, “For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake.”
WHAT TO DO?
1)
You must hear the
Word, you must receive the Word and you must believe the Word.
John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, [even] to them that believe on his name:
2)
You must put the
Word to work before it works
Mark 16:20 And they went forth, and preached everywhere, the Lord working with [them], and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.
3)
You must thirst
and hunger for both the Word and the Power of God
John 7:37 In the last day, that great [day] of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.
4)
You must walk in
the steps of the giants
Hebrews 6:12 That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.
5)
You must travail
and prevail in prayer
Acts 1:14 These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.
PRAYER POINTS
PRAYER 1 | FATHER, THE EARTH IS YOURS. RECEIVE THE GLORY AND HONOR TODAY IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST.
"And Moses said unto him, As soon as I am gone out of the city, I will spread abroad my hands unto the Lord ; and the thunder shall cease, neither shall there be any more hail; that thou mayest know how that THE EARTH IS THE LORD'S." (Exodus 9:29)
PRAYER 2 | FATHER, REVEAL YOURSELF TO ME BY YOUR WORD.
"And the Lord appeared again in Shiloh: for THE LORD REVEALED HIMSELF TO SAMUEL IN SHILOH BY THE WORD OF THE LORD." (1 Samuel 3:21)
PRAYER 3 | FATHER, I PRAY THAT MY ALTAR WOULD BURN ALWAYS AND CONTINUALLY THEREFORE KEEPING THE DEVIL AWAY OF ME IN JESUS NAME!
"And Satan stood up against Israel, and provoked David to number Israel." (1 Chronicles 21:1)
PRAYER 4 | FATHER, I PRAY THAT YOUR WORKS WILL BE CLEARLY MANIFEST IN MY LIFE SO THAT EVEN THE AGENTS OF DARKNESS WILL TESTIFY IT IS THE FINGER OF GOD.
"Then the magicians said unto Pharaoh, THIS IS THE FINGER OF GOD: and Pharaoh's heart was hardened, and he hearkened not unto them; as the Lord had said." (Exodus 8:19)
