SCRIPTURE
John 5:9 "And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked: and on the same day was the sabbath."
KEY STATEMENT
As I continue to meditate over and over about this man with 38 years of infirmity, I notice that he was waiting the water to be stirred according to the established protocol. But he never knew that God was about to break the protocol in order for him to step into a new season of healing, restoration, blessing and wholeness in his life .
Can you see how frustrating and self-deceiving it can be for a man who does not know that the season has changed and is still waiting for things to continue as they were before? God forbid. It is a wrong place to be.
GOD HONOURS PROTOCOL
Virtually every country, organisation, or church have certain procedures or rules that have been put in place for how things are to be done, for how to get to a particular level or position in such institutions or organizations. Even families have their own protocol; their own way of doing things.
God too honours protocol. That’s why the book of Psalms tells us that God follows precept after precept. He follows a process. He has His own procedure for doing things or for getting people to receive certain things from Him. There are certain laid down ways of approaching God.
For example, in Psalm 100:4, David said, “Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise…” I believe that David, a man after God’s heart, must have written down these words out of practical experience. He had discovered the heavenly prescribed way of approaching God. He discovered that the protocol you need to follow for the gates of heaven to be opened unto you is to come through thanksgiving and praise.
When we read John 5:4, we notice that the Bible describes a specific protocol put into place by God himself to heal people who were sick :
1st step : The angel goes down at a certain season into the pool
2nd step : The angel troubles the water
3rd step : Whosoever stepps in first after the water was troubled is made whole of whatever disease he had
WHEN JESUS STEPS IN TO BREAK THE PROTOCOL
The same God who sets protocols is the same God who can also break them to cause his will be done in people's life.
In John 5: 6-9, we see Jesus breaking the protocol and changing the rules just to grant this man his miracle :
a) In the previous season, it was the angel to come down. In the new season, the protocol is broken. It is no longer the angel but more than an angel. It is Jesus Christ, the Lord of lords and King of kings himself.
It is clearly established in Scriptures that Jesus Christ, the Lord of lords and the King of kings is not an angel but is God. He is greater than all the angels put together.
Here are the proofs of Jesus' superiority to angels
1st proof : He had been given a name superior to angels' names
Hebrews 1:4 "The Son has become greater than the angels since he has been given a name that is superior to theirs".
2nd proof : Angels Worship Jesus because Jesus is God.
Hebrews 1:6 "And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him."
Revelation 22:9 Then saith he unto me, See [thou do it] not: for I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings of this book: worship God.
3rd proof : Jesus Is the eternal creator of all things
Hebrews 1:10 And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands:
4th proof : Jesus is the everlasting King while angels are ministering spirits at his service.
Hebrews 1:14 "Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?"
b) In the previous season, it was the water that had to be troubled. In the new season, the protocol is broken. It is not about stirring up the water. It is about stirring up man's faith to be healed.
When Jesus Christ meets this man, he starts ministering to him by asking him one question in order to stir up his willingness and faith to be healed : “DO YOU WANT TO BE HEALED?” (John 5:5).
In Revelation 3:20, Jesus stands at the door of the heart and knocks expecting him to open from inside so that he can come in and sup with him.
Jesus is not asking you "are you able to be healed?" but "do you want to be healed?"
Jesus is not asking you “is it possible to get healed” but “do you want to get healed?”
Jesus is not asking you “tell me the story of what happened” but “do you want to get healed?”
c) In the previous season, it was about stepping first to be made whole. In the new season, the protocol is broken. It is about obeying instruction to be made whole.
After Jesus has stirred up his faith, he now instructs him to put his faith to work by obeying and doing what he has never done before : "Rise, take up thy bed and walk"
Brethren, take note of the fact that nothing releases the blessing over someone’s life like raw obedience to divine instruction.
Throughout Scripture, obedience to divine instructions has always been the master key which unlocks God's intervention and miracles on the earth.
Jesus never helped this man to rise. He never took his bed or walked on his behalf. The man obeyed the instruction given by Jesus and in verse 9 of John 5, the Bible says,
"Immediately he was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked"
WHY DID JESUS BREAK PROTOCOL FOR THIS MAN?
1) No matter how long it has taken, he never gave up waiting until his situation changes.
Job 14:14 "I will wait, Until my change comes."
2) He was left alone but he kept his expectation alive until his situation changes.
Proverbs 23:18 For surely there is an end; and thine expectation shall not be cut off.
PROPHETIC DECLARATIONS AND PRAYERS
NOTE 1 : There are some situations you are in today that unless God puts aside protocol for you, you may continue to remain on that level or in that situation year in year out. But I believe a change has come for you. It’s your turn. It’s your turn for God to set protocol aside to bless you.
PRAYER 1 | FATHER, I DO SAY THANK YOU FOR JESUS CHRIST SENT PERSONNALLY FOR ME. I DECLARE THAT IT IS MY TURN TO EXPERIENCE CHANGE, BREAKTHROUGH AND TURN AROUND IN MY LIFE IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST !

NOTE 2 : If Jesus as perfect and sinless as He was found himself in a situation where God had to put protocol aside to use Him, how much more you and I with all our frailties.
PRAYER 2 | FATHER, I AM IN CHRIST AND CHRIST IS IN ME. WHATEVER WAS NOT ABLE TO STOP JESUS CHRIST WILL NOT BE ABLE TO STOP ME.

NOTE 3 : When God breaks protocol on your behalf, you will receive divine qualification for a position, promotion, blessing or breakthrough that humanly speaking, you are the last person to be given such an opportunity. When protocol is set aside, you are given what you are neither fit nor qualified to receive. When protocol is set aside, God qualifies the unqualified.
PRAYER 3 | FATHER, IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST, I RECEIVE MY CHANGE OF LEVEL TODAY. I RECEIVE MY BREAKTHROUGH TODAY. I RECEIVE MY PROMOTION TODAY. I RECEIVE MY DIVINE QUALIFICATION TODAY.

NOTE 4 : When God breaks protocol on your behalf, you will receive Divine speed. Your progress will be accelerated. God will speed up things for you. What usually takes people years to accomplish, you will accomplish within the shortest possible time.
PRAYER 4 | FATHER, IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST, I RECEIVE SUPERNATURAL SPEED FOR SUPERNATURAL ACCELERATION OF YOUR PLAN IN MY LIFE.
