⏩ COVENANT OF MARVELS ⏪ DAY 13 "ANY AFFLICTION RISING UP THE SECOND TIME IS ILLEGAL"

SCRIPTURE : Luke 7:11-17

• 11 And it came to pass the day after, that he went into a city called Nain; and many of his disciples went with him, and much people.

• 12  Now when he came nigh to the gate of the city, behold, there was a dead man carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow: and much people of the city was with her.

• 13  And when the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her, and said unto her, Weep not.

• 14  And he came and touched the bier: and they that bare him stood still. And he said, Young man, I say unto thee, Arise.

• 15  And he that was dead sat up, and began to speak. And he delivered him to his mother.

KEY STATEMENT

From this text, it appears clearly that this woman was under an evil cycle of death. For the first time she lost and buried her husband. Now for the second time she lost again her son and is on the way of burying him. 

The Bible says in Nahum 1:9 "Affliction shall not rise again the second time". 

While this widow was on her way to bury her one and only son, Jesus showed up and stopped the crowd heading to the grave. With the power of his hand, Jesus stopped the pattern of death and with the power of his voice, Jesus destroyed the power of death.

THIS TEXT REVEALS UNTO US 3 VITAL KEYS TO UNLOCK AND BREAK THE CYCLE OF EVIL PATTERN IN OUR LIVES :

1st key : POSITION YOURSELF PROPERLY AS A DISCIPLE OF JESUS CHRIST


2nd key : POSITION YOURSELF PROPERLY IN THE PERFECT WILL OF GOD FOR YOU


3rd key : PROPHESY LIFE TO STOP THE CYCLE OF DEATH

1st key : POSITION YOURSELF PROPERLY AS A DISCIPLE OF JESUS CHRIST

In Luke 7:11, it is written, "... many of his disciples went with him, and much people went with him..."

We see clearly 2 categories of Jesus' followers : the disciples and much people.

The question is this : What is the quality of my discipleship and of my relationship with Jesus Christ? Where am I listed ? Among the disciples or among the "much people"?

4 DIFFERENCES BETWEEN THE DISCIPLES AND THE PEOPLE

• The disciples follow Jesus wholeheartedly, personnally and passionately. The people follow halfheartedly, grudgingly, coldly and heartlessly.

• The disciples follow Jesus with a personal revelation and relationship with Him. The people follow blindly and religiously

• Because they follow Jesus from their heart, the disciples become like Jesus. They reflect Jesus. They are anointed the way Jesus was, they are led by God the way Jesus was, they do good the way Jesus did, they heal the sick the way Jesus did, they deliver the captive the way Jesus did . . . The people reflect nothing from Jesus.

• Being listed among the category of "much people" equals to be like anybody else. But no disciple of Jesus ends up like anybody else.

2nd key : POSITION YOURSELF PROPERLY IN THE PERFECT WILL OF GOD FOR YOU

In Luke 7:12, it is written "... There was a dead man carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow: and much people of the city was with her."

When the Bible says that this woman was a widow, it means that she had already buried her husband. Now, she is again on her way to bury her son.

WHAT IS THE PERFECT WILL OF GOD FOR YOU?

1) As parent, the perfect will of God for you is not to bury your children but that your children bury you.

Genesis 25:9 And his sons Isaac and Ishmael buried him in the cave of Machpelah, in the field of Ephron the son of Zohar the Hittite, which [is] before Mamre.

Genesis 35:29 And Isaac gave up the ghost, and died, and was gathered unto his people, [being] old and full of days: and his sons Esau and Jacob buried him.

Genesis 50:13 For his sons carried him into the land of Canaan, and buried him in the cave of the field of Machpelah, which Abraham bought with the field for a possession of a buryingplace of Ephron the Hittite, before Mamre.

2) The perfect will of the Father is also that none of your children should be taken away in the midst of their years. Premature death is therefore illegal for us in Christ Jesus!

• In Psalms 102:24, it is written, "I said, O my God, take me not away in the midst of my days: thy years [are] throughout all generations."

3) The perfect will of the Father is that you live long and you fulfil your days. 

It is written in Exodus 23:26, "There shall nothing cast their young, nor be barren, in thy land: the number of thy days I will fulfil."

4) The perfect will of God for you is that no affliction should rise more than once in your life. 

It is written in Nahum 1:9 "Affliction shall not rise again the second time".

3rd key : PROPHESY LIFE TO STOP THE CYCLE OF DEATH

In Luke 7:14, it is written, "Jesus came and touched the bier: and they that bare him stood still. And he said, Young man, I say unto thee, Arise."

Jesus Christ did two things before he brings back the young man to life : he touched the bier and commanded the dead to arise.

By touching the bier, Jesus was stopping a pattern and a cycle of death that was taking place in her life. 

By speaking to the dead, Jesus was destroying the cycle of death and establishing the cycle of life by the power of his Word.

It is written in Psalms 29:4 "The voice of the LORD [is] powerful; the voice of the LORD [is] full of majesty."

From Scriptures, it is clear that:

• Birds hear God (Isaiah 46:11)

• Fishes hear God (Jonas 2:10-11)

• Sea and wind hear God (Luke 8:24)

• Mountains hear God (Matthew 21:21)

• Dead hear God (John 11:43-44)

• Everything living or existing in the universe hear God (Psalm 29)

• Even bones hear God (Ezekiel 37:4)

In the midst of the dry bones, God said to Ezekiel "Prophesy upon these bones, and say unto them, O ye dry bones, hear the word of the LORD." (Ezekiel 37:4)

What is the evil cycle and pattern challenging your life? With faith and authority, speak, prophecy and declare life over anything you know is dead in your life.

PROPHETIC DECLARATIONS AND PRAYERS

PRAYER 1 | Father, I believe your voice is powerful and full of majesty (Psalms 29:4). 

• Your voice can move mountain. Move this mountain on my way today. 

• Your voice can bring back to life. Bring back to life this dead situation today. 

• Your voice can bring to existence what has never existed before. Create a new thing in my life today. 

• Your voice can speak to the fish to release Jonas. Release my Jonas today. 

• Your voice can silence raging wind. Silence the storms of my life today ...

PRAYER 2 | Our children are called to be the continuity of our name. It is our responsibility to pray againt any attack of the enemy against them.

Psalms 127:3-5 Lo, children [are] an heritage of the LORD: [and] the fruit of the womb [is his] reward. 4 As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth. 5 Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.

PRAYER 3 | Father, I pray by the power of the blood and of the Name of Jesus Christ that affliction should not keep on repeating again and again in my life.  I pray that in the Name of Jesus Christ the cycle of death be broken in my country, in my family, in my community, ...

Nahum 1:9 "Affliction shall not rise again the second time".
