Acts 4:16 Saying, What shall we do to these men? for that indeed a NOTABLE MIRACLE hath been done by them [is] MANIFEST to all them that dwell in Jerusalem; and we cannot deny [it].
10 THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT SIGNS AND WONDERS
1. SIGNS AND WONDERS ARE NOTABLE
Notable
means you can do nothing to ignore them. Every effort to ignore them is vain. They are not only known but also noised by people who talk about them.
- Acts 4:16 “… we cannot deny [it].”
- Acts 2:6 “Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language.
2. SIGNS AND WONDERS ARE MANIFEST
Manifest
means that signs and wonders are not only talked about, but are also tangible,
touchable and clearly observable.
- Romans 1:19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed [it] unto them.
3. SIGNS AND WONDERS ARE STRIKING AND CAUSE FEAR AND TERROR
- Acts 2:43 And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles.
- Acts 5:5 When Ananias heard Peter say this, he dropped dead. Everyone who heard about his death was terrified.
- Acts 5:11 And great fear came upon all the church, and upon as many as heard these things.
- Acts 5:13 None of the other people dared to join them, although everyone spoke highly of them.
- Luke 5:26 And they were all amazed, and they glorified God, and were filled with fear, saying, We have seen strange things to day.
- Luke 7:16 And there came a fear on all: and they glorified God, saying, That a great prophet is risen up among us; and, That God hath visited his people.
4. SIGNS AND WONDERS ARE ALWAYS SO MARVELOUS THAT PEOPLE WONDER AND ASK QUESTIONS.
- Matthew 12:23 And all the people were amazed, and said, Is not this the son of David?
- Mark 4:41 And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?
5. SIGNS AND WONDERS ALWAYS COME WITH PRAISE
- Matthew 9:8 But when the multitudes saw [it], they marvelled, and glorified God, which had given such power unto men.
- Matthew 15:31 Insomuch that the multitude wondered, when they saw the dumb to speak, the maimed to be whole, the lame to walk, and the blind to see: and they glorified the God of Israel.
- Mark 2:12 And immediately he arose, took up the bed, and went forth before them all; insomuch that they were all amazed, and glorified God, saying, We never saw it on this fashion.
- Acts 4:21 So when they had further threatened them, they let them go, finding nothing how they might punish them, because of the people: for all [men] glorified God for that which was done.
- Galatians 1:24 And they glorified God in me.
6. SIGNS AND WONDERS ARE GOD’S HAND AT WORK THROUGH MEN’S HAND
- Acts 4:30 By stretching forth thine hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of thy holy child Jesus.
- Exodus 8:19 Then the magicians said unto Pharaoh, This [is] the finger of God …
- Acts 5:12 And by the hands of the apostles were many signs and wonders wrought among the people; (and they were all with one accord in Solomon’s porch.
- Acts 14:3 Long time therefore abode they speaking boldly in the Lord, which gave testimony unto the word of his grace, and granted signs and wonders to be done by their hands.
7. SIGNS AND WONDERS ARE GOD’S POWER AND GOD’S GRACE MADE MANIFEST
- Acts 6:8 Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and miracles among the people.
8. SIGNS AND WONDERS ARE GOD’S WORD PUT TO WORK
- Mark 16:20 And they went forth, and preached everywhere, the Lord working with [them], and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.
9. SIGNS AND WONDERS ARE MEANT TO POINT OUT TO THE LORD WHO IS THE DOER
- Acts 3:12 And when Peter saw [it], he answered unto the people, Ye men of Israel, why marvel ye at this? or why look ye so earnestly on us, as though by our own power or holiness we had made this man to walk? […]
- Acts 3:13 The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath glorified his Son Jesus; whom ye delivered up, and denied him in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let [him] go.
10. SIGNS AND WONDERS ARE GOD’S MAGNET TO DRAW PEOPLE TO HIM
- Acts 2:6 Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language.
- Acts 5:12 And by the hands of the apostles were many signs and wonders wrought among the people; (and they were all with one accord in Solomon’s porch. […]
- Acts 5:14 And believers were the more added to the Lord, multitudes both of men and women.)
- Acts 5:15 Insomuch that they brought forth the sick into the streets, and laid [them] on beds and couches, that at the least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them.
- Acts 5:16 There came also a multitude [out] of the cities round about unto Jerusalem, bringing sick folks, and them which were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed every one.
PROPHETIC DECLARATIONS AND PRAYERS
PRAYER 1 | FATHER, CAUSE MY FAMILY TO BE LISTED AMONG SIGNS AND WONDERS INTO THIS GENERATION IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST!
Isaiah 8:18 Behold, I and the children whom the LORD hath given me [are] for signs and for wonders in Israel from the LORD of hosts, which dwelleth in mount Zion.
PRAYER 2 | FATHER, HELP ME TO WALK AND LIVE AS A MAN/WOMAN APPROVED OF YOU SO THAT SIGNS AND WONDERS WILL BE MY PORTION ALL THE DAYS OF MY LIFE IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST!
Acts 2:22 Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know:
PRAYER 3 | FATHER, STRETCH YOUR HAND AND PERFORM WONDERS IN EVERY AREA OF MY LIFE IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST!
Acts 4:30 By stretching forth thine hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of thy holy child Jesus.
SO SHALL IT BE!
JESUS IS LORD!
