TODAY IS DAY 15 JESUS PERFORMS A FINANCIAL MIRACLE BY PROVIDING MONEY IN THE MOUTH OF THE FISH (Matthew 17:27-29)
PRAYER INTERCESSORY GUIDELINES
PRAYER 1
In Matthew 17:27, Jesus instructs Peter saying, "go thou in the sea, and cast out an hook" The reason behind this instruction is because Peter was a fisher by profession and had skills and experience in fishing.
Question of meditation
Do you know your natural abilities ? Do you know the areas of your skill? If yes, what are they?
LET US PRAY
- The same way God has put wisdom and understanding in Bezaleel and Aholiab whose skill was useful for the service of the tabernacle, pray the Father to provide wisdom and understanding that will enable you to locate your abilities and skills and to know how to make good use of them for the glory and honor of God.
Read and pray with Exodus 36:1-2 and Ephesians 1:17-18
- Pray the Father that your skill and abilities be fully and faithfully used for the service of the sanctuary the same way Bezaleel and Aholiab availed theirs for the tabernacle. Tell the Father, "Here am I, use me for your glory"
PRAYER 2
In Matthew 17:25, we learn that Jesus was faithfully paying the tax for the house of God.
Question of meditation
Are you faithful in handling money? Are you faithful in tithes and offerings? Are you faithful in your partenership for Kingdom advancement? Are you faithful in paying the taxes in your country?
LET US PRAY
- Pray God the Father to baptize you with a faithful spirit. Pray God to help you to be faithful with little so that you will be qualified to be faithful with much. Ask him also to forgive you anytime you have been unfaithful to him in giving him back your tithes and offerings.
Read and pray with Luke 16:10
- Pray the Father to deliver you from the love of money which is the root of all evil. Pray Him to deliver you from the obsessive power of Mammon. Pray God and surrender totally to him as your one and only Master.
Read and pray with Matthew 6:24 and 1 Timothy 6:10
PRAYER 3
In Matthew 17:25, we see the tax collectors busy collecting money for the temple. In Matthew 17:27, we see Jesus instructing Peter to go to the sea to fish.
What does Jesus teach us? From Scriptures, we learn that fishing is the picture of sousl winning. In Matthew 4:19, Jesus says to his disciples, "Follow me and I will make you fishers of men".
Jesus is therefore teaching us that our primary and fundamental pursuit in our life should not be running after money but rather running after the salvation of souls. As a matter of fact, as we will obey this instruction, he guarantees us that he will be committed to meet supernaturally all our needs.
Question of meditation
Do you have a heart that is concerned for the lost? Are you concerned about your family members who are not yet saved ? Are you concerned about your neighbours who are not yet saved? Are you concerned about your workmates or schoolmates who are not yet saved? What do you do to reach out unto them? Do you share with them your testimony of salvation in Christ ? Do you pray for their salvation?
LET US PRAY
- At this time, give yourself time to list the people you know who are not yet saved and pray desperately for their salvation. Pray also the Father to draw them to Christ and to church the coming Sunday.
Read and pray with John 6:44
- Pray the Father to use your business, your various abilities and whatever you have for the salvation of the unsaved.
