The "7" I Am' Statements Of Jesus in John | SUN 16-02-2025 | I AM THE TRUE VINE
● “I am the true vine and My Father is the vinedresser… I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing” (John 15:1-5).
● Jesus said this to His disciples in the Upper Room on the night of His arrest and impending death.
Jesus, the True Vine
● In the Bible, Jesus talks about being the "true vine." This can be a little tricky to understand, but let's break it down into a simpler idea.
What is a Vine?
● First, let's imagine a vine. A vine is a plant that grows long and has branches. These branches can grow grapes or other fruits. For the branches to be healthy and have fruit, they need to stay connected to the vine. The vine is like the main part of the plant that gives life and nutrients to the branches.
Jesus is the Vine
● Jesus said, "I am the true vine." This means He is like that main part of the plant. He gives life and helps people grow and be happy.
We are the Branches
● When Jesus says, "You are the branches," He means that people are like the branches of the vine. If we stay connected to Jesus, just like branches stay connected to the vine, we can grow and do good things.
Staying Connected
● To stay connected to Jesus, we should try to learn about Him and follow His teachings, like being kind, loving, and helpful to others. Just as a branch needs to stay attached to the vine to grow strong and bear fruit, we need to stay close to Jesus to become better people.
God's Role
● God is like the gardener who takes care of the vine and branches. He helps us grow by guiding us and giving us what we need. Sometimes, He might help us change or remove things that aren't good for us, just like a gardener trims the branches to make them healthier.
Bearing Fruit
● When we stay connected to Jesus and listen to God, we can "bear fruit." This means we can do good things, like helping others, being kind, and spreading love. These actions honor God and make the world a better place.
● So, remember, by staying close to Jesus, the true vine, we can grow and do amazing things! Go ahead and Praise Him !
