*I. Triumphal Entry (Mark 11:1-11):*

*Summary:* Jesus enters Jerusalem riding on a colt, fulfilling Zechariah's prophecy (Zechariah 9:9). The crowds acclaim Him as the Son of David, the coming King.

*Lessons:* Jesus is the promised Messiah; the kingdom of God is both triumphant and humble; the people's initial enthusiasm foreshadows their later rejection.

*Application:* Treat God's house with respect; prioritize spiritual purity over outward religious practices; resist hypocrisy and commercialism within the church.


*III. The Cursing of the Fig Tree (Mark 11:12-14, 20-25):*

*Summary:* Jesus curses a barren fig tree, symbolizing the hypocrisy and lack of fruitfulness of the religious leaders. The disciples witness the tree withering, illustrating the power of Jesus' word.

*Lessons:* God's judgment on hypocrisy and unfruitfulness; the power of Jesus' word; faith is essential for receiving God's blessings.

*Application:* Examine our own fruitfulness; strive to live lives that bear good fruit; trust in the power of God's word to transform lives; have faith that God's judgment is just and His blessings are abundant.


*IV. Authority and Faith (Mark 11:20-26):*

*Summary:* The disciples notice the withered fig tree, prompting Jesus to teach about the power of faith and the importance of believing in God's ability to answer prayer. He emphasizes the importance of forgiving others as a condition for receiving God's forgiveness.

*Lessons:* Faith moves mountains; prayer is powerful when coupled with faith; forgiveness is essential for receiving God's forgiveness.

*Application:* Cultivate unwavering faith; pray with confidence, believing God will answer according to His will; practice forgiveness and reconciliation in our relationships.
