*DAY 37/40 UNCOMMON PATIENCE | I DON’T MIND WAITING | TUESDAY 7TH MARCH 2023*
*ILLUSTRATION 1: ELIJAH AT MOUNT CARMEL*
● After God spoke to Elijah of the sending of the rain, Elijah went up to Mount Carmel to fill the cloud.
*Read 1 Kings 18:43 - 45*
● *There was no sign of rain at all*
*1Ki 18:43* And said to his servant, Go up now, look toward the sea. And he went up, and looked, and said, *There is nothing.* And he said, Go again seven times.
● I want to draw your attention on the declaration of the servant, “There is nothing.”
*Watch this,…*
● There was something in the spiritual realm. There was something because Elijah heard something. But in the physical sight there was nothing. No sign of rain anywhere.
*Hear me and hear me very well,…*
● Just because you see nothing does not mean there is nothing.
● The servant did not say the right thing. I disagree totally with him. I wish he could have said, *“I see nothing”* instead of saying *“There is nothing.”* Those are two different things.
● Don’t say there is nothing when you see nothing. Not everything is accessible to your eyes.
● Word of Life, *THERE IS SOMETHING GOING ON IN THE SPIRITUAL REALM*.
● God can never call us in vain.
● As long as the servant didn’t see anything, Elijah told him, *“Go again”* seven times
*1Ki 18:43* And said to his servant, Go up now, look toward the sea. And he went up, and looked, and said, *There is nothing.* And he said, *Go again seven times.*
*I am here to tell you, “GO AGAIN”*
- Have you prayed and you saw nothing? *Go again*.
- Have you prayed and it seemed there is nothing? *Go again*.
- Have you prayed and it looks like God is quiet? *Go again*.
- Have you prayed and it looks like the answer is delaying? *Go again*.
● *I like Elijah.*
● The reason is because Elijah was a man who was not just praying, but a man who was praying until he sees.
● Elijah prayed and prayed again until the clouds were full and it rained.
*1Ki 18:44* And it came to pass at the seventh time, that he said, Behold, there ariseth a little cloud out of the sea, like a man's hand. And he said, Go up, say unto Ahab, Prepare thy chariot, and get thee down, that the rain stop thee not.
*1Ki 18:45* And it came to pass in the mean while, that *the heaven was black with clouds* and wind, and *there was a great rain.* And Ahab rode, and went to Jezreel.
● *Tap into the anointing of Elijah and receive the same kind of anointing in the Name of Jesus Christ…*
- *Pray Until* there is change in the physical.
- *Pray Until* you see something in the physical.
- *Pray Until* you see the heavens becoming black.
- *Pray Until* you see the effect of your prayer.
● In this season, I made up my mind. I am not stopping. I am praying and fasting until I see the cloud full. Until it rains.
● *AND I KNOW ... IT WILL RAIN*
● *But it will take uncommon patience.*
*ILLUSTRATION 2: THE DISCIPLES AT THE UPPER ROOM*
Let’s look at the disciples in *Acts 1:4, 14, 2:1*
● After Jesus spoke to the disciples of the sending of the Holy Spirit, they went up to the Upper Room to fill the cloud.
● The disciples prayed in one accord until the rain of the Holy Spirit fell.
*Act 1:4* And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.
*Act 1:14* These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.
*Act 2:1* And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
*KEYS TO FILL THE CLOUDS*
*KEY 1 | Wait for the promise*
*1Ki 18:1* And it came to pass after many days, that the word of the LORD came to Elijah in the third year, saying, Go, shew thyself unto Ahab; and *I will send rain upon the earth.*
*Act 1:4* And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but *wait for the promise* of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.
● *LESSON | For you to fill the cloud, you need the Word or promise from God.*
You fill the cloud with the Prophecy or what God told you.
*KEY 2 | Wait for what you have heard*
*1Ki 18:41* And Elijah said unto Ahab, Get thee up, eat and drink; for *there is a sound of abundance of rain.*
*Act 1:4* … Father, which, saith he, *ye have heard of me.*
● My friend, wait for the promise of the Father. Wait for what you have heard. If you have heard nothing, don’t wait, go and do your business.
● I know there are things I have heard. I am waiting for what I have heard to come to pass.
● Wait to see what you have heard. Wait to convert what you have heard to testimony.
*KEY 3 | Wait with the right people*
● Elijah was praying in agreement with Gehazi.
●The disciples were praying in one accord.
*1Ki 18:43* And said to his servant, Go up now, look toward the sea. And *he went up, and looked,* and said, There is nothing. And he said, Go again seven times.
*Act 1:14* These all *continued with one accord in prayer and supplication,* with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.
● Wait with the right people otherwise you will waste your waiting.
*KEY 4 | Wait with one accord.*
*Act 2:1* And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with *one accord* in one place.
*KEY 5 | Wait in God’s ordained place.*
*1Ki 18:42* So Ahab went up to eat and to drink. And Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; and he cast himself down upon the earth, and put his face between his knees,
*Act 2:1* And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
*KEY 6 | Wait praying continually*
● After hearing from God, Elijah went to Mount Carmel to pray while Ahab went up to play.
*1Ki 18:42* So Ahab went up to eat and to drink. And *Elijah went up to the top of Carmel;* and he cast himself down upon the earth, and put his face between his knees,
*Act 1:14* These *all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication,* with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.
*EFFECTS OF WAITING*
● *1st effect : Sudden visitation*
● *As you wait upon the Lord, I anounce to you that your visitation will be sudden. The rain will be sudden. The answer will be sudden*
*Act 2:2* And *suddenly* there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
● *2nd Effect : Cloven tongues on everyone*
● *As you wait upon the Lord, I announce to those who are in one accord, in the same place waiting for the Lord, each one will receive his portion.*
*Act 2:3* And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and *it sat upon each of them.*
● *God is not the God who visits only one. He visits all.*
*Act 2:4* And *they were all filled with the Holy Ghost,* and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
● *3rd effect : Uncommon addition*
● After the rain fell, 3000 souls were added to the Church supernaturally.
● *God is the God of uncommon addition, uncommon multiplication, uncommon change of level.*
*Act 2:41* Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day *there were added* unto them about three thousand souls.
*CONCLUSION*
● My friend, wait. *WAITING IS NOT WASTING.* Wait until the rain falls. Wait. Ngoja. God never lies. Wait.
● I don’t know who I am talking to, but I feel I should tell somebody today, WAIT!! And you will not be disappointed.
*PRAYER SESSION*
*Lift your voice and tell God,*
*I receive the grace to wait. Waiting is not wasting. Elijah waited. I will pray until I see. I will fast until I see. I am not praying in vain. I will wait.*
● Receive the grace to wait. Receive the same spirit of Elijah. He was not intimidated by the report. Be not intimidated by the report, by what you see. *WAIT & PRAY!!*
● Elijah said I know what I have heard, GO AGAIN!!
● *GO AGAIN! PRAY AGAIN! SERVE AGAIN! GIVE AGAIN! Until the rain falls.*
● Wait with the right people. Pray continually. And … It will be sudden. I am telling you it will be sudden, Wait.
● If you know you have heard from God, it will be sudden and each one who waited, will have his portion. MARK MY WORDS TODAY! IT SHALL BE AS GOD SAID.
*In Jesus Name, Amen.*
