SUNDAY SERMON | 24-04-2022 | THE EXCEEDING GREATNESS OF HIS POWER.

Power has levels. Power grows. Power has dimensions. Eph 1:18-21 / Luke_4:14 / Luke_9:43 / Ezekiel 47:1-5

CHAPTER 1 | THE GOD OF AGAIN AND AGAIN

● God has many attributes (Great. Powerful. Holy. Love. Kind etc.) 

● However, there is one attribute of God to which we do not give so much attention… God is THE SAME yesterday, today and forever 

● What does it mean?

● MEANING 1 | First of all, in Hebrews 13:8, the Bible says, Jesus Christ is the same. Yesterday, today and forever. John 14:12

● Whoever means that the supernatural acts performed by Jesus in the Bible are not an exclusive privilege reserved to some special individuals but are available to anyone who believes.

● MEANING 2 | In Ecclesiastes 1:9, the Bible says, "What has happened before will happen again. What has been done before will be done again. There is nothing new in the whole world".

● In the Hebrew text, the root word which we translate as testimony means to 'repeat', 'return' or 'do again'. ... 

● It means that testimonies are not just encouraging stories. Every time you hear a testimony, the Lord is prophesying your own breakthrough to you.

CHAPTER 2 | HOW TO TAP INTO THE SUPERNATURAL. John 14:12, John 7:37

CATEGORY 1  | THE THIRSTY

● What does that mean? 

● To tap into the supernatural, you must have a deep thirst and hunger for God. Meaning you must have a strong spiritual desire for God. Isaiah 44:3

● CASE 1 | Moses was an extraordinary man of unusual demonstration of power because he was a man with an unusual thirst and hunger for God. Exodus 33:18

● CASE 2 | David was an extraordinary man of unusual demonstration of strength in battle because he was a man with an unusual thirst and hunger for God. Psalms 42:2

● CASE 3 | Elisha tapped into the double portion of Elijah’s anointing because he thirsted for it. 2 Ki 2:2-6

● CASE 4 | Among the Bible writers, No one has ever been thirsty of power like Apostle Paul. No wonder no one among the apostles operated in such high level of power like him. Philippians 3:10

Evaluate: 

Are you thirsty? Are you hungry? Are you desperate? Are you desiring?

CATEGORY 2  | THE AGRESSIVE

● The majority of people who received miracles from God were never passive (apart from the dead). They did not sit back and wait for things to happen or come to them. They were aggressive and violent in their faith to take their portion.

● CASE 1 | Bartimaeus shouted and shouted the more to get his miracle despite people around discouraging him. 

● CASE 2 | The 4 friends of the paralytic took away the roof of the house to bring the paralytic to Jesus despite the obstacles.

 ● The question I am asking to y Are you spiritually aggressive? 

CATEGORY 3 | THE PURPOSEFUL

● The supernatural is our birthright. To tap into the power behind the supernatural, tap into the purpose of the supernatural. Therefore, the why of the supernatural must be as clear to you as running water.

FACT 1 | Jesus Christ the Son of God was not able to do anything without power from above. Luke 1:35  / Ephesians 1:19 -20 

FACT 2 | Because Jesus Christ the Son of God knew that He was not able to do anything without power from above, he told his disciples to not depart from Jerusalem but wait for the power from above to operate on the earth. Act 1:8

FACT 3 | More than ever, the Church in this end time needs to plug again to this power. But it will happen only if we can plug into the purpose of God behind power.
