REBUKE THE DEVOURER
SCRIPTURE : Mark 5:25-34
There was a woman who was sick for twelve years. Her sickness was the issue of blood, meaning she was bleeding continually. Physically she was drained. Financially she was also drained because the Bible says, "she has suffered many things by many physicians and spent all that she had" (Mark 5:26). What does it mean? She was so desperate to get healed that she gave out everything she had : properties, plots, etc. Unfortunately, instead of getting better, the Bible says, "she rather grew worse" (Mark 5:26).
Before we go further, I'd like to let you know that the Bible speaks about devourers which are demonic and highly destructive powers meant to attack your finances so that you will end up in poverty. What are they?
1. Evil Powers of wastage : They make a man to live a life of waste (of time, of resources, of opportunities, of grace, ...) and to live a riotous life (drunkenness, immorality, prostitution, wrong relationships,,... ) like the prodigal son in Luke15:13 who "squandered his legacy by absolutely living debauchedly"
PRAYER : AS THE SON OF THE COVENANT, PRAY WITH FAITH AND REBUKE WITH AUTHORITY THE POWERS OF WASTAGE IN YOUR LIFE IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST !
2. Mismanagement : The enemy blinds people's mind so that they won't be able to see clearly the purpose of their life (2 Corinthians 4:4) . And whenever purpose is not clear, there will be no clear plan. When plan is not clear, mismanagement is inevitable.
PRAYER : AS THE SON OF THE COVENANT, PRAY WITH FAITH AND REBUKE WITH AUTHORITY ANY EVIL POWER BLINDING THE MIND. PRAY FOR CLARITY OF GOD'S PURPOSE IN YOUR LIFE. PRAY FOR DIVINE WISDOM FOR GOOD MANAGEMENT IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST !
3. Oppression and affliction : Evil powers of darkness are essentially oriented to afflict and oppress men (John 10:10. They can cause sicknesses and diseases (mental, physical, etc). They can come physically as thieves or con men, tricksters,
PRAYER : AS THE SON OF THE COVENANT, PRAY WITH FAITH AND REBUKE WITH AUTHORITY ANY AFFLICTION AND OPPRESSION OF THE ENEMY IN YOUR LIFE, YOUR HEALTH,... PRAY THE LORD TO KEEP YOU AWAY FROM THIEVES IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST !
CONCLUSION
God makes a promise to his covenant sons and daughters to rebuke the devourer for their sake in Malachi 3:11 "I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the LORD of hosts.
Are you in the covenant? Do you keep your covenant with God in your finances?
