JESUS IS THE MESSIAH

WHAT DOES MESSIAH MEAN?

One of the scriptural and undeniable fact about Jesus Christ is that Jesus is the Christ. When we say that Jesus is the Christ, we mean in other words that Jesus is the Messiah. What does Messiah mean? Messiah means "the anointed one".

According to Scriptures, three speific categories of people were anointed : kings, priests and prophets. By calling Jesus the Messiah, aactually the idea behind it is that by the reason of the anointing, Jesus was carrying the threefold office of the King, the Priest and the Prophet.

Jesus was anointed as the King of kings

Revelation 17:14 These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him [are] called, and chosen, and faithful.

Jesus was anointed as the High Priest

Hebrews 3:1 Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus;

Hebrews 4:14 Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.

Jesus was anointed as the Prophet

Luke 24:19 And he said unto them, What things? And they said unto him, Concerning Jesus of Nazareth, which was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people:

WHY WAS JESUS ANOINTED?

Jesus was anointed for specific purposes :

1) To do good to men (Acts 10:38)

2) To heal those who are oppressed of the devil (Acts 10:38)

3) To fulfil his prophetic mandate on the earth (Luke 4:18-19)

4) To take away the burden and break the yoke on the neck of men (Isaiah 10:27)

5) To be above his companions (Hebrews 1:9)

PROPHETIC DECLARATIONS

1) I PRAY THAT JESUS THE ANOINTED ONE DO YOU GOOD TODAY.

2) I PRAY THAT JESUS THE ANOINTED ONE HEAL YOU FROM THE OPPRESSION OF THE DEVIL TODAY.

3) I PRAY THAT JESUS THE ANOINTED ONE TAKE AWAY ANY KIND OF BURDEN THE ENEMY HAS PUT OVER YOUR SHOULDER TODAY.

4) I PRAY THAT JESUS THE ANOINTED ONE BREAK ABY KIND OF YOKE THE ENEMY HAS PUT OVER YOUR NECK TODAY.

5) I PRAY THAT JESUS THE ANOINTED ONE LIFT YOU ABOVE THE CHALLENGES OF LIFE TODAY
