"THE GOD OF REMEMBRANCE"
As we are at the gate of the first day of the last month of the year 2017, we will focus our praise today on the GOD OF REMEMBRANCE.
What is remembrance?
In the Bible the word "remembrance" is used of God in the sense of God stretching his hand on fulfilling His promises.
Divine remembrance does not mean that God can ever forget. It simply means God's special and particular attention toward someone. The same way you zoom your camera lens on an object, divine remembrance zooms God’s attention on the remembered. And anytime God remembers a man or a people his hand is always stretched to perform the humanly impossible.
In every case in Scriptures, the idea is the same: God remembers in the sense of taking action on His promises.
1ST CASE : Unless God remembers Abraham and his covenant, Lot would have died in the wicked cities of Sodom and Gomorrah,. The Bible says in Genesis 19:29 that God “remembered Abraham” and spared Lot on his behalf.
2ND CASE : When Rachel wanted to bear children, but could not, we read that “God remembered Rachel” and she conceived (Genesis 30:22).
3RD CASE : When Israel was in bondage in Egypt, we read that “God remembered His covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob” (Exodus 2:24).
4TH CASE : When Mary conceived Jesus by the Holy Spirit, she praised God who remembered His mercy as He had spoken to Abraham and his offspring (Luke 1:54-55).
5TH CASE : The penitent thief on the cross asked, “Jesus, remember me when You come in Your kingdom” (Luke 23:42).
6TH CASE : When God remembered Noah, he made a wind blow over the earth and the water started to go down. (Genesis 8:1)
7TH CASE : When God remembers a man, those who have forgotten him will just suddenly remember him. The King who had forgotten Mordecai for years had a sleepless night just to remember him.
Esther 6:1 On that night could not the king sleep, and he commanded to bring the book of records of the chronicles; and they were read before the king.

IN THIS MONTH OF DECEMBER 2017, WHICH IS THE LAST OF 2017, I PRAY THAT THE GOD OF REMEMBRANCE WILL REMEMBER YOU AND YOUR FAMILY IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST !
IN THIS MONTH OF DECEMBER 2017, WHICH IS THE LAST OF 2017, I PRAY THAT THE LORD WILL OPEN THE BOOK OF REMEMBRANCE AND REMEMBER YOUR PRAYERS, YOUR OFFERINGS, YOUR TITHES, YOUR ALMS, YOUR GOOD WORKS OFFERED TO HIM ALL THIS YEAR IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST !
FOR ONE HOUR, PRAISE THE GOD OF REMEMBRANCE AS YOU REMEMBER WHAT HE DID FOR YOU THROUGHOUT THE YEAR 2017. PRAISE HIM ALSO AS YOU CONSIDER HOW HE REMEMBERED:
- NOAH BY PRESERVING HIM FROM THE FLOOD,
- ABRAHAM BY RESCUING LOT FROM THE JUDGMENT,
- RACHEL BY OPENING HER WOMB,
- JOSEPH BY DELIVERING HIM FROM THE PRISON,
- ISRAEL BY DELIVERING HIM FROM SLAVERY,
- MORDECAI BY PROMOTING HIM,
- MARY BY CHOOSING HER AMONG ALL WOMEN,
- THE PENITENT THIEF BY GRANTING HIM ACCESS TO PARADISE
"HAPPY MONTH OF DECEMBER"
SO SHALL IT BE!
