TEXT : Luke 3:23
According to Scriptures, we discover that heaven was opened upon Jesus when he was 30 years. We read this in Luke 3:23
"And Jesus himself began to be about thirty years of age, ..."
In the bible the age of 30 is a sign of physical and mental maturity and ability to handle major responsibilities.
The number 30 can symbolize also dedication to a particular task or calling.
👉It is not enough to claim or to pray that God would open heaven upon you. First and foremost, ask yourself the question if you are mature enough to handle the open heaven experience.👈
What does it mean ? It means that you don't wish to see heaven opened. You mature to see heaven opened.
Let us have a look at what happened to some people in the Bible at the age of 30
1) The Bible reveals to us that Joseph was 30 years old when he came out of prison to stand before the Pharaoh and was placed by him in charge over all that he ruled.
Genesis 41:46 "And Joseph [was] thirty years old when he stood before Pharaoh king of Egypt. And Joseph went out from the presence of Pharaoh, and went throughout all the land of Egypt.
2) Aaronic priests were dedicated to serve at 30,
Numbers 4:3 "From thirty years old and upward even until fifty years old, all that enter into the host, to do the work in the tabernacle of the congregation."
3) The Bible reveals to us again that King David also, when he began to reign over Israel, was thirty years old
2 Samuel 5:4 "David [was] thirty years old when he began to reign, [and] he reigned forty years."
4) The prophet Ezekiel begins his book of the same name "in the 30th year" (which likely referenced his age at the time). It is at this time that the heavens were opened and he receives his first recorded vision from God, known as the "wheel in the middle of a wheel" or "wheel within a wheel" vision.
Ezekiel 1:1 Now it came to pass in the thirtieth year, in the fourth [month], in the fifth [day] of the month, as I [was] among the captives by the river of Chebar, [that] the heavens were opened, and I saw visions of God.
QUESTION / ARE YOU GROWING? ARE YOU MATURING IN YOUR SPIRITUAL LIFE OR ARE YOU STILL A BABY?
CHARACTERISTICS OF THE IMMATURE
1) The immature cannot handle the truth. He gets angry, upset, makes you his enemy and withdraws himself from you when you tell him/her the truth.
Galatians 4:16 "Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?"
2) The immature is jealous and can not handle others' greatness and success .
1 Samuel 18: 8 "And Saul was very wroth, and the saying displeased him; and he said, They have ascribed unto David ten thousands, and to me they have ascribed [but] thousands: and [what] can he have more but the kingdom?"
3) The immature is poor in the management of the resources at its disposal. He is essentially characterized by waste.
Luke 15:14 "He had nothing left when a severe famine spread throughout that country. He had nothing to live on."
4) The immature has a narrow and short vision of life.
Hebrews 5:13 "For every one that useth milk [is] unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe."
5) The immature is a chronic complainer and a professional murmurer. He complains and murmurs over everything. He talks more problems than solutions.
Jude 1:16 "These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling [words], having men’s persons in admiration because of advantage."
6) The immature believes that he has only rights not responsibilities. He is a highly bloodsucking person.
Proverbs 30:15 "The bloodsucking leech has two daughters--"Give!" and "Give!" Three things are never satisfied. Four never say, "Enough!":"
7) The immature does not have control over his feelings, his emotions, his temperament and the satisfaction of his needs.
Proverbs 25:28 He that [hath] no rule over his own spirit [is like] a city [that is] broken down, [and] without walls.
