DAY 4 "PRAISE MOVES THE HAND OF GOD"

INTRODUCTION

It is written in 2 Kings 3:15, "But now bring me a minstrel. And it came to pass, when the minstrel played, that the hand of Jehovah came upon him."

In today's text we discover something amazing related to the prophet Elisha who called a musician to play music and while he was playing, the hand of the Lord came upon him and he was prophesying.

Isn't it amazing to consider that listening to godly inspired music can actually be a way to move the hand of God upon your life? 

BLESSINGS OF GODLY MUSIC

There are many blessings in godly and inspired music in the Christian life :

1) Godly music in the personal fellowship with God creates a condusive and prophetic environment for the move of the presence of God.

When Elisha said, "Bring me a minstrel," it was because he believed the harper’s music would be a real help to him in experiencing God’s presence and in doing God’s work. And he was right because the Bible says, 

"it came to pass, when the minstrel played, that the hand of the Lord came upon him." 

The Bible says in Psalms 22:3 

"But you are holy, O you that inhabit the praises of Israel.

2) Godly music in the midst of demonic attacks and depression has the ability to cast out demons and evil spirits by the power of God

Anytime Saul was tormented by evil spirits, he was refreched when David was playing  music under the anointing. We discover it in 1 Samuel 16:23

"And it came to pass, when the evil spirit from God was on Saul, that David took an harp, and played with his hand: so Saul was refreshed, and was well, and the evil spirit departed from him."

3) Godly music in the midst of hurtful situations releases divine power which breaks the chains, shakes the foundations and set the captives free.

When Paul and Silas were held in prison, instead of complaining and murmuring, they sang praises unto the Lord and the power of God moved mightly shaking the foundations of the prison and setting free the prisonners as we can read in Acts 16:25-26 

"And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises to God: and the prisoners heard them. 26  And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one’s bands were loosed."

4) Godly music in the midst of battle causes the enemies to start fighting one another 

In 2 Chronicles 20:22, the Bible says,

"And when they began to sing and to praise, the LORD set ambushes against the children of Ammon, Moab, and mount Seir, which were come against Judah; and they were smitten. 23 For the children of Ammon and Moab stood up against the inhabitants of mount Seir, utterly to slay and destroy them: and when they had made an end of the inhabitants of Seir, every one helped to destroy another."

CONCLUSION

• YOU CANNOT BE A GODLY MAN AND LIKE UNGODLY MUSIC. NO. IT IS IMPOSSIBLE.

• My question to someone today is simple : What kind of music do you listen to? 

• The kind of music you incline your ears to hear to reveals a lot about your heart whether you are godly or ungodly.

10 minutes PRAISE 1 | It has taken the hand of God to force the Pharaoh to release the people of Israel from their bondage.

Exodus 3:19 And I am sure that the king of Egypt will not let you go, no, not by a mighty hand.

Exodus 6:1 Then the LORD said unto Moses, Now shalt thou see what I will do to Pharaoh: for with a strong hand shall he let them go, and with a strong hand shall he drive them out of his land.

👉 My God and my Father, I praise you and I lift your name on high for your mighty and powerful hand forcing the Pharaohs to release right now my loved ones, my finances, my family members kept in bondage in Jesus’ name!

10 minutes PRAISE 2 | The hand of God was so strong and mighty that even the magicians of Egypt saw it and confessed it “This is the finger of God”

Exodus 8:19 Then the magicians said unto Pharaoh, This [is] the finger of God: and Pharaoh’s heart was hardened, and he hearkened not unto them; as the LORD had said.

👉 My God and my Father, let your hand upon my life, my ministry, my family, my business be so manifest and evident that the witches, sorcerers and wizards bow before you and declare undoubtedly “THIS IS THE FINGER OF GOD !”

10 minutes PRAISE 3 | It has taken the hand of God to bring Jesus Christ out of the grave and to lift Him in heaven at the right hand of the Father.

Acts 2:32 This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses. 33 Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.

👉 My God and my Father, I praise you today for your might hand that brought Christ out of the grave and lifted Him up to heaven. Let the mighty hand do the same in those who are in the grave of hopelessness, helplessness, bitterness, poverty, sickness, misery, debts and various issues IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST!

10 minutes PRAISE 4 | From Scriptures, the hand of God is not short but can be shortened because of sin in the heart of men.

Numbers 11:23 And the LORD said unto Moses, Is the LORD’S hand waxed short? thou shalt see now whether my word shall come to pass unto thee or not.

Isaiah 59:1-2 Behold, the LORD’S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear: But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.

1 Samuel 5:11 So they sent and gathered together all the lords of the Philistines, and said, Send away the ark of the God of Israel, and let it go again to his own place, that it slay us not, and our people: for there was a deadly destruction throughout all the city; the hand of God was very heavy there.

👉 My God and my Father, I praise you today for your hand is not short. Have mercy on me and forgive me my sins that shorten your hands over my life in the name of Jesus Christ! 

10 minutes PRAISE 5 | From Scriptures, when the hand of God is stretched, signs and wonders always follow and take place : healing, protection, provision, promotion, deliverance from pits, …  

1 Samuel 2:8 He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, [and] lifteth up the beggar from the dunghill, to set [them] among princes, and to make them inherit the throne of glory: for the pillars of the earth [are] the LORD’S, and he hath set the world upon them.

Ezra 8:31“The hand of our God was upon us, and he delivered us from the hand of the enemy, and of such as lay in wait by the way.” 

Psalms 40:2 He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, [and] established my goings.

Psalms 145:16 “Thou openest thine hand, and satisfiest the desire of every living thing.”

Acts 4:30 “Lord, stretch forth thine hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of thy holy child Jesus".

👉 My God and my Father, I praise you today for your hand stretched today to heal the sick, to provide to the need of your people, to promote your children, to deliver those who are in pits. Let signs and wonders be our portion as your hand is upon us and is stretched toward us.

10 minutes PRAISE 6 | From Scriptures, the hand of God is stretched only upon the humble

Numbers 12:3 (Now the man Moses [was] very meek, above all the men which [were] upon the face of the earth.)

1 Peter 5:6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:

👉 My God and my Father, make me humble and meek and keep me away from any conscious or unconscious pride for the glory and honor of your naame in the name of Jesus Christ !
