40 DAYS AT JESUS' FEET MIRACLE 23 "THE POWER OF TALKING TO YOURSELF"

MONDAY 09.10.2017
MIRACLE 23 : 12 YEARS OF PLAGUE TERMINATED
Readings : Matthew 9:20-22; Mark 5:25-34; Luke 8: 42-48

In today's miracle we read how 12 years of blood issue were reversed in ONE ENCOUNTER with Jesus Christ through ONE TOUCH OF FAITH.

What did she do to reverse the irreversible 12 years of blood issue?
  • She heard of Jesus (Mark 5:27a)
  • She came to Jesus (Mark 5:27b)
  • She spoke and continued speaking healing to herself (Mark 5:28)
  • She touched the hem of Jesus' garment (Mark 5:27c)
"SHE KEPT SAYING TO HERSELF ... I WILL GET WELL"

This woman who suffered for 12 years of issue of blood found miraculously and marvelously her way out of the plague by activating one major and powerful spiritual principle which is talking to herself.

In Matthew 9:21, the Bible says,
"For she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole."
The NET Version says, "She kept saying to herself...".

This woman did not only stop at talking to herself. She processed her self-talk to acting accordingly. By doing so, 12 years of plaque were put to an end as we read in verse 22

"...the woman was made whole from that hour."

WHAT IS THE POWER BEHIND WHAT YOU SAY TO YOURSELF?

David, the man after God's heart, was a strong man of exploits because he has learned to apply and live after this principle his whole life.

From his life, we learn some reasons how talking to yourself can be a booster of faith and inner strength for a life of miracle.

1. When you talk to yourself, tell to yourself what the Lord has done in the past and what he promises he will do in the future.

In Psalms 103:2, David says to himself, "Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits"

David was a man of marvels and exploits because whenever he was facing new challenges, he always was remembering the past mighty acts of God.

When facing Goliath, David looked back at what the Lord did for him in the bush and he was empowered in his faith to confront the giant and to overcome him.
"David said moreover, The LORD that delivered me out of the paw of the lion, and out of the paw of the bear, he will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine. And Saul said unto David, Go, and the LORD be with thee." (1 Samuel 17:37)

A WORD FOR YOU TODAY : IT IS NOT ABOUT HOW TALL GOLIATH IS TODAY. IT IS ABOUT HOW FRESH THE PAST MIRACLE OF GOD IS IN YOUR MEMORY. IF GOD DID IT YESTERDAY TO YOU OR TO SOMEONE ELSE, HE CAN STILL DO IT TODAY AND TOMORROW.

2. When you talk to yourself, encourage yourself to strengthen your inner man.
One day, David was extremely distressed after the city was burned by the Amalekites and the people were taken captives including his two wives. Though he cried, he never wallowed in sorrow and in distress, rather, he found strength in the Lord his God by encouraging himself. In 1 Samuel 30:6, the Bible says,

"David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the LORD his God."
Further in the text, the Bible says in 1 Samuel 30:18 that "David recovered all that the Amalekites had carried away: and David rescued his two wives."

A WORD FOR YOU TODAY : NO MATTER WHAT YOU FACE TODAY, YOU CAN STILL FIND STRENGTH IN THE LORD AND ENCOURAGE YOURSELF TO RISE ABOVE THE CHALLENGE UNTIL YOU RECOVER ALL THAT THE ENEMY HAS STOLEN FROM YOU!

3. When you talk to yourself, speak the Word of God to yourself until it sinks into your soul and affects your actions so you can command exploits in life.

In Psalm 1, David shows how powerful is the meditation of the Word of God in commanding exploits in life. He says in verses 2 and 3
"His delight [is] in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
"He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper."
From this text, David compares the Word of God with the rivers of water and meditating the Word with being planted by the rivers. When a man meditates the Word day and night, he therefore positions himself to command marvels in his life because :
  • he will never go dry because his leaf will ever be green,
  • he will never be barren or unfruitful because his tree will ver be fruitful and
  • he will never experience shrinkage in his business because his business will ever be prosperous.

A WORD FOR YOU TODAY : YOU TOO CAN MAKE YOUR WAY TO A DRYNESS-FREE, BARENESS-FREE AND SHRINKAGE-FREE LIFESTYLE IF ONLY YOU COMMIT YOURSELF TO MEDITATING CONSISTENTLY THE WORD OF GOD AND PUTTING IT TO WORK.

DECLARE AND PRAY

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me (Philippians 4:13).

God has not given me a spirit of fear. He gives me power, love, and self-discipline (2 Timothy 1:7 ESV).

I am God’s servant and He takes pleasure in my prosperity (Psalm 35:27).

I meditate on God’s word day and night. I am successful and prosperous (Psalm 1:2-3, Joshua 1:8).

Christ redeemed me from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for me (Galations 3:13 NIV).

The God of hope fills me with all joy and peace in believing so that I abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit (Romans 15:13).

The Lord of peace is peace. In every way, He always gives me His peace (2 Thessalonians 3:16).

I always rejoice and pray without ceasing. In everything, I give thanks for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for me (I Thessalonians 5:16-18).

I do all things without grumbling or complaining so that I will prove myself to be blameless and innocent. I am a child of God who is above reproach in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom I appear as lights in the world (Philippians 2:14-15).

I hold fast to the word of life. In the day of Christ’s return, I will have reason to glory because I did not run or labor in vain (Philippians 2:16).

I always rejoice in the Lord and my gentleness (graciousness or forbearance) is known to all people (Philippians 4:4,5).

I am anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving I let my requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard my hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:6-7).

I choose to meditate on anything that has virtue or is praiseworthy. I think about things are true, noble, just, pure, lovely, and of good report (Philippians 4:8).

I press on, that I may lay hold of that which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. Forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus (Philippians 3:12-14).

The Lord is my God! He is mighty to save. He rejoices over me with gladness and singing. I am quieted by His love (Zephaniah 3:17).

God instructs me and keeps me as the apple of His eye (Zechariah 2:8).

The LORD has chosen me for Himself as His special treasure (Psalm 135:4).

I persist in speaking God’s word until it accomplishes its purpose. It is like fire. It is like a hammer that shatters a rock (Jeremiah 23:29).

God redeems my life from the pit. He crowns me with lovingkindness and compassion (Psalm 103:4).

God satisfies my mouth with good things and renews my youth like the eagles’ (Psalm 103:5).

Christ bore my sins in His own body on the cross and I am healed by His stripes (1 Peter 2:24).

IN JESUS PRECIOUS NAME !
JESUS IS LORD !
