40 DAYS AT JESUS' FEET MIRACLE 2 "QUALIFIED FOR THE TOUCH FROM THE LORD"

TEXT : READ Matthew 9:27-29
"27 And when Jesus departed thence, two blind men followed him, crying, and saying, Thou Son of David, have mercy on us.

28 And when he was come into the house, the blind men came to him: and Jesus saith unto them, Believe ye that I am able to do this? They said unto him, Yea, Lord.
29 Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you."
INTRODUCTION
Many want a touch from the Lord but will never get it because they prefer to stay on the street instead of following Jesus in the house.
Many want a touch from the Lord but will never get it because they are not perseverant and persistent in their quest for the miracle. Just one little obstacle is enough to cause discouragement.
Many want a touch from the Lord but will never get it because they are not careful enough to know him personnally.
Many want a touch from the Lord but will never get it because they don't have faith that Jesus is able to do anything for them.
WHAT DOES THIS MIRACLE TEACH US ABOUT JESUS CHRIST?

1st revelation :) Jesus Christ has not only power to resurrect the dead but also to heal the blind.
The miracle of the 2 blind men occured after the resurrection of Jairus' daughter. Jesus Christ is never tired to do miracles.
2nd revelation :) Jesus Christ is the Messiah
The 2 blind men never saw Jesus physically but they saw him spiritually and acknowledged him as the Messiah by calling him "Jesus the Son of David"
  • Do you know who Jesus is for you?
  • Do you know what Jesus can do?
  • Do you know Jesus from the head or from the heart?
  • Do you have a historical knowledge of Jesus or an experimental knowledge of Jesus?

3rd revelation :) Jesus Christ is the God of mercy
The 2 blind men knew that they were not qualified for grace. They believed that their blindness was a divine judgment as a result of God's anger against them. That's why they were cryng to the Messiah for mercy.
4th revelation :) Jesus Christ is able
The only question Jesus asked the 2 blind men before releasing the healing was nothing else than wether they had faith that HE WAS ABLE.
Believe ye that I am able to do this?” (Matthew 9:28).
By this question, Jesus wanted the 2 blind men to grow their faith from believing that He was the “son of David” to believing that He is God. He says, “Believe ye that I AM …”

5th revelation :) Jesus Christ is Lord
The 2 blind men started acknowledging Jesus as the Messiah, as the God of mercy, as the able God and finally as the Lord. In Matthew 9:28, they answered to Jesus, "Yea, Lord."

WHAT DOES THE TEXT TEACH US ABOUT HOW JESUS CHRIST PERFORMED THE MIRACLE ?
😊 The 2 blind men started praying for their healing from the street. But Jesus never heard nor answered them on the street . They persevered and persisted in following Jesus Christ until they got their miracle in the house.
  • The street is popular while the house is private.
  • The street is noisy while the house is quite.
  • The street is for everybody while the house is for somebody.

LESSON : If God is not answering your prayer, question yourself if you are at the right place and at the right position. Question yourself if you are still in the street or you have moved from the street to the house. Question yourself if you are growing or if you are stagnating in your relationship with the Lord. Question yourself if you are persistent and perseverant in following the Lord.
😊 It was only when the 2 blind men released "yes Lord" from their mouth, that Jesus' power was released to heal them
LESSON : It was good that the 2 blind men followed Jesus Christ from the street to the house. It was good that they had the messianic revelation of Jesus Christ as the Son of David. But all that was not enough and complete for their healing until they acknowledged and said yes to the lordship of Jesus Christ.
In Luke 6:46, Jesus asks a question, "And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?"
😊 Because their heart believed and thmouth confessed their faith, Jesus stretched his hand, touched and healed the damaged part of their body.
Jesus didn't grant them their miracle because they called him "son of David" but because with their mouth, they've confessed that Jesus was able to do what they were requesting him to do for them.

LESSON : The question is not about whether God is able or not. The question is about whether you believe in your heart and confess in your mouth that he is able or not.
Romans 10:9 "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
