⏩ COVENANT MONTH OF PREVAILING PRAYER ⏪ KEY 6 "PUT THE WOOD IN ORDER"

Before Abraham our father in the faith offers Isaac on the altar, he did something highly significant.

In Genesis 22:9, we read this 

And they came to the place which God had told him of; and ABRAHAM BUILT AN ALTAR THERE, AND LAID THE WOOD IN ORDER, and bound Isaac his son, and laid him on the altar upon the wood.

Before Elijah offers the sacrifice on the altar, we see him doing the same thing like Abraham did as we read in 1 Kings 18:33 

"And HE PUT THE WOOD IN ORDER, and cut the bullock in pieces, and laid [him] on the wood, and said, Fill four barrels with water, and pour [it] on the burnt sacrifice, and on the wood."

The question we should ask is this: was it a simple religious act or was it an act of revelation?

WHY TO PUT THE WOOD IN ORDER ?

1st reason : You must put the wood in order on the altar because God is the God of order 

From Scriptures, it is important for us to know and understand that God is the God of order as we read in 1 Corinthians 14:33  

The BBE version of this text says, "God is NOT A GOD WHOSE WAYS ARE WITHOUT ORDER, but a God of peace;... "

The Amplified Version says "God  is not a God of confusion and disorder BUT OF PEACE AND ORDER..."

2nd reason : You must put the wood in order on the altar because heaven answers the earth only when things are set in order on the earth.

Concerning Abraham, because the wood was in order, Isaac his son was spared from being killed and a ram came to offer itself to Abraham to be offered on the altar instead of Isaac.

Concerning Elijah, because the wood was in order, fire came from heaven to respond to the order and burned the sacrifices

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO PUT THE WOOD IN ORDER?

"To put the wood in order is simply TO PUT FIRST WHAT GOD WANTS TO BE FIRST "

1. GOD WANTS YOU TO SEEK FIRST HIS KINGDOM BEFORE ANYTHING ELSE IN THIS WORLD

Matthew 6:33 "Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you."

2. GOD WANTS YOU TO FORGIVE AND RECONCILE FIRST BEFORE YOU GIVE YOUR OFFERING ON THE ALTAR

Matthew 5:23  Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee; 24  Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.

3. GOD WANTS YOU TO OBEY FIRST BEFORE YOU OFFER YOUR SACRIFICE ON THE ALTAR

1 Samuel 15:22 Behold, to obey [is] better than sacrifice, [and] to hearken than the fat of rams.

PRAYERS

# 1. DON'T BLAME GOD IF YOUR PRAYERS ARE NOT ANSWERED. ASK YOURSELF "IS THE WOOD ON YOUR PRAYER ALTAR IN ORDER?"

1. IS THE KINGDOM FIRST IN YOUR LIFE?
2. IS YOUR HEART A FORGIVING HEART?
3. IS YOUR HEART OBEDIENT TO THE LORD?

DECLARE AND PRAY | Father, help me to always seek first your kingdom before my own interests

PRAYER 2

DECLARE AND PRAY | Father, help me to have a forgiving heart so that my prayer can be accepted in your sight 

PRAYER 3

DECLARE AND PRAY | Father, help me to have an obedient heart so that my prayer can be accepted in your sight
