WORD OF LIFE CHURCH INTERNATIONAL: ⏩ COVENANT OF INFALLIBLE PROOFS ⏪ DAY 6 "THE GOD WHO ANSWERS WITH PROOFS, HE IS GOD"

SCRIPTURE

"The God that answereth by fire, let him be God. (1 Kings 18:23-24)

KEY STATEMENT

No one who ever served God genuinely whether in the Old or in the New Testament lacked proofs of the power of God in their lives and in their ministries.

In today's meditation we will study how proofs were used by the Lord as powerful and useful tools of confirmation in the life of Elisha, Moses and Hannah.

1st case : In the ministry of Elijah, God provided fire from heaven as living proof to put an end to the spiritual confusion and restore the worship due to Him and Him alone.

2nd case : In the ministry of Moses, God provided signs as living proofs to confirm and give weight to his mandate as God's sent.

3rd case : In the life of Hannah, God provided Samuel as a living proof that He answers prayers and also with the purpose of silencing the mockeries of Peninah.

Let us now study those cases in detail :

1st case : GOD OF ELIJAH ANSWERED WITH FIRE TO PROVE HE IS THE TRUE GOD.

There was a spiritual confusion going on in the country. Baal became so popular and famous that the people built altars to him and broke down the altar dedicated to the Lord God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. They stopped serving the Lord and were serving Baal.

To put an end to that confusion, Elijah invited the prophets of Baal to a spiritual confrontation at Mount Carmel with the purpose to prove between Baal and the Lord God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob who was the true God.

In 1 Kings 18:23-24, he defines the rule and says, "The God that answereth by fire, let him be God."

After many hours, the 450 prophets of Baal attempted and prayed Baal to send fire. They cut themselves with their spears. They shouted, jumped and sweated but there was no sign, no answer and no fire.

But when Elijah restored the altar and put the wood in order on it, without shouting, without jumping, without sweating, Elijah prayed and called upon the Lord saying,

"LORD God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, make known today that you are God in Israel and that I’m your servant and have done all these things by your instructions. Answer me, LORD! Answer me! Then these people will know that you, LORD, are God and that you are winning back their hearts." (1 Kings 18:36-37)

Immediately and instantly, the Bible says, "a fire from the LORD fell down and consumed the burnt offering, wood, stones, and dirt. The fire even dried up the water that was in the trench." (1 Kings 18:38-39)

When the people saw it, the Bible says that they bowed down to the ground. "The LORD is God!" they said. "The LORD is God!"

PROPHETIC DECLARATION : THE LORD GOD OF ABRAHAM, ISAAC AND JACOB WILL PROVE BY FIRE IN THE SIGHT OF ALL THE PROPHETS OF BAAL THAT HE IS THE TRUE GOD IN YOUR LIFE AND THEY WILL BOW BEFORE HIM TO GIVE HIM ALONE THE GLORY.

I SEE THE PROPHETS OF BAAL CHALLENGING YOUR GOD COMING TO BOW DOWN BEFORE YOUR GOD CONFESSING AND DECLARING THAT HE IS THE TRUE GOD.

DECLARE IT AND PRAY ----------------------

2nd case : GOD OF MOSES SHOWED SIGNS TO PROVE THAT MOSES WAS HIS SENT.

When Moses tried to save the people of Israel with his own strength, he was rejected by his brothers because he lacked proofs of his mandate. The Bible says that he fled and dwelt with Jethro for 40 years.

When the Lord appeared to him, he could still remember the previous experience and was not sure that his people will believe him. He knew that without proofs there was no way he could be heard and people could believe in him.

In Exodus 4:1, it is written,

"Moses answered and said, But, behold, they will not believe me, nor hearken unto my voice: for they will say, The LORD hath not appeared unto thee."

After God provided to him living proofs, he demonstrated them in the sight of the elders of his people. When they saw all theose proofs, the Bible says in In Exodus 4:30-31,

"... And the people believed: and when they heard that the LORD had visited the children of Israel, and that he had looked upon their affliction, then they bowed their heads and worshipped."

PROPHETIC DECLARATION : IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST, I DECLARE THAT YOUR MINISTRY WILL NEVER LACK PROOFS.

DECLARE IT AND PRAY ----------------------

3rd case : GOD OF HANNAH GAVE SAMUEL TO PROVE THAT HE IS THE PRAYER ANSWERING GOD AND THE MOCKERY SILENCING GOD.

Year after year Hannah was persecuted by her rival because she was not able to conceive. She had nothing to show. She had no proof in her hand showing that she had a prayer answering God in heaven.

One day, she decided to tarry in the presence of God until she gets a living proof baby boy who will serve the interests of God and shut the mockers' mouth.

She vowed a vow to God and said in 1 Samuel 1:11

"O LORD of hosts, if thou wilt indeed look on the affliction of thine handmaid, and remember me, and not forget thine handmaid, but wilt give unto thine handmaid a man child, then I will give him unto the LORD all the days of his life, and there shall no razor come upon his head."

Her vow got God's attention who opened her womb and put into her hand the living proof baby boy called Samuel. When she came to the man of God, she said to him,

"For this child I prayed; and the LORD hath given me my petition which I asked of him" (1 Samuel 1:27)

PROPHETIC DECLARATION : IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST, YOUR HANDS WILL HOLD YOUR SAMUEL AS A LIVING PROOF THAT THE LORD IS THE PRAYER ANSWERING GOD THEREBY CAUSING ALL YOUR MOCKERS TO SHUT THEIR MOUTHS.

DECLARE IT AND PRAY ----------------------

WHAT TO DO?

Moses prayed. Elijah prayed. Hannah prayed. You too pray!
Moses had faith in God. Elijah had faith in God. Hannah had faith in God. You too have faith in God
Moses obeyed God's instruction. Elijah obeyed God's instruction. Hannah obeyed God's instruction. You too obey God's instruction.

JESUS IS LORD !
