SCRIPTURE
"After his death Jesus showed the apostles a lot of convincing evidence that he was alive ..." (Acts 1:3) .
WHY PROOFS ?
3 major reasons explain why proofs were
needed to accompany Jesus’ resurrection:
✒✒✒ 1st reason: Jesus Christ
showed the disciples proofs of resurrection because resurrection is an UNUSUAL
EVENT.
Through the proofs, Jesus was ushering them into
a new realm and a new world where the unusual becomes usual, the strange becomes normal and the extraordinary becomes ordinary.
1
Corinthians 2:9 (KJV)
But as it is written, EYE HATH NOT SEEN, nor EAR HEARD, neither have entered
into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love
him.
Luke
5:26
And they were all amazed, and they glorified God, and were filled with fear,
saying, We have seen strange things to day.
✒✒✒ 2nd reason: Jesus Christ
showed the disciples proofs of resurrection because he was preparing them to be
witnesses of his resurrection.
Jesus Christ was therefore showing them proofs so
that they will themselves become proofs of the things they have been showed.
1
John 1:1-3
(KJV) 1 That which was from the beginning, which WE HAVE HEARD, which WE HAVE SEEN WITH OUR EYES, which WE HAVE LOOKED UPON, and OUR HANDS HAVE HANDLED, of the Word of
life; 2 (For the life was MANIFESTED, and WE HAVE SEEN IT, and BEAR WITNESS,
and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was
MANIFESTED unto us;) 3 That which WE HAVE SEEN and HEARD DECLARE we unto you,
that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the
Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.
✒✒✒ 3rd reason: Jesus Christ
showed the disciples proofs of resurrection to break their doubt and build
their faith so that they will also become agents of resurrection.
By showing them proofs, Jesus Christ was giving
them the opportunity to see, to touch and to talk to Him so as to confirm that they
were not dreaming but touching the reality.
Matthew
28:17
And when they saw him, they worshipped him: but some doubted.
APPLICATION AND PRAYERS
1.
Resurrection
means to you today that you are ushered into the realm of supernatural, extraordinary
and strange things.
For the sake of Jesus’ resurrection, stop
living as an ordinary man. Stop expecting only ordinary things. Stop being
victim of things ordinary people are victim of.
PRAYER | Father, I pray that the
resurrection of Jesus will turn me into an amazement and a wonder in my generation. I pray that your mighty works in my life fill
people with fear. I pray that the resurrection of Jesus Christ usher me into a
world of strange things from now on and forever. So shall it be!

Resurrection
means to you today that you are entitled to become a living proof.
Proofs never need
many words. They speak loud by themselves. For the sake of Jesus’
resurrection, stop living in this world as a question mark. Stop living as a
pitiable and deplorable man.
PRAYER | Father, I pray
that the same power that resurrected Jesus Christ from the dead will work
wonders in my life so that I will be an effective witness of resurrection in my
generation in the name of Jesus Christ!
3.
Resurrection
means to you today that God’s Word will no longer remain Word but will become
concrete, tangible and palpable Work in your life.

ask you again,”where is your God”. The will of God for you is to be the light
that shines in this dark world and the salt that sweetens this bitter world.
PRAYER | Father, show forth in my life so that
the World around me will see you at work in the Name of Jesus Christ!
