DAY 17 "JESUS HEALS INSTANTLY A LEPER"
Readings : Matthew 8:1-4; Mark 1:40-45; Luke 5:12-14
INTRODUCTION
Why did the multitudes follow Jesus Christ? They followed Jesus Christ
because they were astonished at the power behind his teaching and because Jesus
Christ was teaching with unusual authority.
It is written in Matthew 7:28-29 "the crowd were astonished at the power behind his teaching. For his
words had the ring of authority, quite unlike those of their scribes."
The question today is
- Why are you following Jesus Christ?
- Do you understand the teachings released to you through your church?
- When you read the Bible do you understand what you read?
- Are you connected to the power behind the preaching and the teaching of the Word of God?
- Does the Word of God appear to you as glorious?
INTERCESSORY PRAYER GUIDELINES
PRAYER 1 PRAY TO
BREAK DOWN ANY DEMONIC VEIL THAT HINDERS
YOUR UNDERSTANDING OF THE WORD OF GOD
It is written in 2
Corinthians 4:4 The god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which
believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image
of God, should shine unto them.
LET US PRAY
- Father, in the Name of Jesus Christ, I pray that the Power of your light breaks down and rolls away any blindfolding power of darkness hindering my understanding of the glorious gospel of Christ.
Read and pray with 2 Corinthians 4:4
- Father, open my mind so that I can understand clearly Scriptures and all the teachings provided to me through your servant.
Read and pray with Luke 21:45
PRAYER 2 PRAY THAT
THE LORD WILL SEND TO YOU AN ANOINTED TEACHER OF THE WORD WHO WILL GUIDE YOU IN
UNDERSTANDING THE WORD

Father, the same way you
sent Philip to cause the eunuch to understand the Word of God, I pray that the
Holy Spirit appoints to me an anointed teacher of the Word through which my
understanding of the Word will be boosted in the name of Jesus Christ.

PRAYER 3 PRAY THAT
THE LORD GIVES YOU A TEACHABLE SPIRIT

Father, break pride in my
heart and endue me with meekness so that I can be teachable. Break ignorance in
my heart and endue me with heavenly knowledge so that I can be teachable in the
Name of Jesus Christ.

4 STEPS TO DO TO STOP THE PLAGUE
GOD'S WORD CHANGES YOU INWARDLY FIRST BEFORE THEY CAN CHANGE YOU OUTWARDLY.
Among the audience who attended the teachings of Jesus Christ was a man
full of leprosy. The teachings have impacted his spirit and soul but nothing
changed in his body because he was still leprous. What did he do to stop instantly the plague over his life ?
1) He overcame rejection and people's opinion about him and came
confidently to Jesus among the multitude despite the leprosy on his body
(Matthew 8:2)
Question/ Do you
still struggle with rejection? Do you still rely on people's opinion concerning
the issue you go through?
2) He overcame pride and stopped afflicting and complaining about his
case. Rather, he came kneeling down and worshiping Jesus Christ despite the
leprosy on his body. (
Question/ Do you
still struggle with pride? Do you still afflict yourself about your unsolved
situation?
3) He got out of ignorance and understood that leprosy was not the will
of God concerning his life. By understanding, his faith came alive that healing
is possible.
Question/ Do you know
the will of God concerning the situation you are going through?
4) He converted the knowledge of God's will into persistent prayer to
enforce its fulfillment into his life (Mark 1:40)
Question/ Do you pray
persistently? Are you persistent in seeking God?
PRAYER 1 PRAY AGAINST
THE SPIRIT OF REJECTION AND PRAY FOR INNER CONFIDENCE
LET US PRAY
§
Father, in the Name of Jesus
Christ, I break down any spirit convincing and causing me to feel rejected,
unloved, unworthy and useless. I condemn this evil spirit and cast it out of my
spirit and soul IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST !
§
Father, I declare and I
decree that I am not rejected but accepted in Christ. I am not unloved but
loved in Christ. I am not unworthy but worthy in Christ. I am not useless but
useful in Christ.

PRAYER 2 PRAY AGAINST
THE SELF-AFFLICTION SPIRIT AND PRAY FOR THE SPIRIT OF PRAISE, WORSHIP AND
THANKSGIVING.
LET US PRAY

Father, in the Name of Jesus
Christ, I rebuke any evil spirit causing me to afflict myself, to complain
about my situation, to compare myself with others and to be unhappy. I
therefore worship you today for I am fearfully and wonderfully made in Jesus
Christ.

PRAYER 3 PRAY AGAINST
IGNORANCE AND PRAY FOR THE ENTRANCE OF LIGHT IN YOUR SPIRIT AND SOUL

Father, send your light
through your Word in my heart thereby causing any trace of ignorance to be
broken in the Name of Jesus Christ.

Father, enlighten my spirit
and soul so that I can understand your Word and your will concerning me and my
faith can be enhanced and empowered
Read and pray with Ephesians 1:17-19 and Ephesians 5:17
PRAYER 4 PRAY AGAINST
SPIRITUAL LAZINESS AND PRAY FOR SPIRITUAL LABOURING
§
Father, deliver me from
being spiritually lazy and endue me with the grace to be spiritually
persistent, spiritually hardworking, spiritually violent so that I can secure
the enforcement of your will in my life in the name of Jesus Christ.
Read and pray with Daniel 10:12; Matthew 11:12 and Luke 18:1-5

By engaging personally the teachings of Jesus in his life, the man
received instantly his healing after Jesus had compassion on him and touched
him.
Question/ Are you
just wishing that your life will experience change or are you engaging personally
in the altar of prayer?
