40 DAYS AT JESUS' FEET DAY 35 "CHRISTMAS IS MORE THAN A FEAST. IT IS A FACT"

TODAY IS DAY 35 THE SUPERNATURAL CONCEPTION OF CHRIST

Reading : Luke 1:26-38

Today's miracle is about the supernatural conception of Jesus Christ in Mary's womb through the ministration of the angel Gabriel.

At Christmas we celebrate the undeniable, undebatable, incontestable, irrefutable and unquestionable fact that God entered the world as a man to make sinners sons, slaves kings, rejected accepted, poor rich.

IN THIS SEASON, AS THE LORD LIVES, IT WILL BE AN UNDENIABLE, UNDEBATABLE, INCONTESTABLE, IRREFUTABLE AND UNQUESTIONABLE FACT IN YOUR LIFE THAT YOU ARE NO LONGER A SINNER BUT A SON, NO LONGER A SLAVE BUT A KING, NO LONGER REJECTED BUT ACCEPTED, NO LONGER REJECTED BUT ACCEPTED IN CHRIST ! ! !

Here are 5 undeniable facts that make christmas meaningful and colorful :

PRAYER GUIDELINES

FACT 1: HOLD ON … YOU ARE NEXT IN LINE

Six months after Elizabeth has received the angelic visitation, now comes the time for Mary to be also visited by the same angel.

⏩⏩ God is still at work. Hold on. You are next in line.⏪⏪

PRAYER POINT No 1

Pray that God helps you to deal with discouragement in your heart and ask him to take it away so that you will be able to always wait on him.

Read and pray with Habakkuk 2:3 “For the vision [is] yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.”

FACT 2: GOD KNOWS EXACTLY WHERE YOU ARE LOCATED

Luke provides enough details about the place where the angel encountered Mary. He says “…unto a city of Galilee named Nazareth...” (Luke 1:26).

⏩⏩ Even if no one knows your address, God knows it.⏪⏪

PRAYER POINT No 2

    1.   Abraham prayed for Lot who was residing in Sodom and Gomorrah. God heard him and delivered Lot. Esther, Mordecai and the Jews residing in Assyria prayed God to intervene for them. God heard them and delivered them.

Wherever you are, whichever country you are, lift up your voice and intercede for the place where the Lord has positioned you.

Read and pray with Jeremiah 29:7 And seek the peace of the city whither I have caused you to be carried away captives, and pray unto the LORD for it: for in the peace thereof shall ye have peace.

PRAYER POINT No 2b

    2.   As a Christian, you are called to be the light and the salt of the place where you are located.

Pray for the grace to be effectively that light and that salt who will attract multitude of men and women to the Lord

Read and pray with Matthew 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

FACT 3: GOD KNOWS YOUR NAME

Not only does Luke mention specifically the place where Mary was located, he also mentions specifically the name of Mary and of Joseph.

⏩⏩Be encouraged today that God has never forgotten you.⏪⏪

It is written in Psalms 147:4 “He telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all by [their] names.”

If Jesus who made the stars, billions of them, knows all by name, then it is reasonable to conclude that he also knows your name, my name and the names of all billion of people who occupy earth.

  • In Genesis 17:5, God changed the name of Abram to Abraham
  • In Genesis 17:15, God changed the name of Sarai to Sarah
  • In 1 Samuel 1:4,  God called Samuel by his name
  • In Luke 19:5, Jesus called Zachaeus by his name
  • In Acts 9:4, God called Saul by his name
QUESTIONS

Do you seem like people have forgotten you? Is there someone who owes you something but fails to keep his word?

PRAYER POINT No 3

People may forget your name but God will never forget. Lift up your voice and pray for a personal and intimate relationship with God.
Read and pray with Isaiah 43:1 But now thus saith the LORD that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called [thee] by thy name; thou [art] mine.

FACT 4: IN CHRIST, YOU TOO ARE HIGHLY FAVOURED

When the Gabriel came to Mary, he was carrying a message from the divine counsel. He tells her 3 things:
  • You are highly favoured
  • The Lord is with you
  • Thou art blessed among women
What does it mean to be “highly favoured?”

To be “highly favoured” actually, in everyday Greek, means the favor a benefactor bestows on another with the purpose of changing their circumstances from loss to gain, from poverty to plenty, from pain to pleasure, from evil to good, from ugliness to beauty, from sorrow to joy.

⏩⏩ Mary was highly favoured because she was picked by God to carry Jesus Christ. You too are highly favoured because you carry the same Christ in you ⏪⏪

PRAYER POINTS No 4

  1.   Nothing is mentioned about why and what Mary did to be highly favoured. So it was not about her efforts or deeds but about God’s grace and choice

Lift up your voice and appreciate with thanksgiving the Lord for his grace upon your life. Read and pray with Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: [it is] the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

PRAYER POINTS No 4b

    2.   Anytime grace steps in, disgrace steps out.

Pray and cry unto the Lord that his grace casts out of your life any trace of disgrace and reproach in any area of your life

Read and pray with Luke 1:25 Thus hath the Lord dealt with me in the days wherein he looked on [me], to take away my reproach among men.

PRAYER POINTS No 4c

    3.    From Scriptures, God shows favor toward the meek…

Pray and cry unto the Lord that he will fill you with the spirit of humility and destroy the spirit of pride so that His grace can be released fully upon your life.

Read and pray with 1 Peter 5:5 Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all [of you] be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.

FACT 5 YOU HAVE A GLORIOUS, MAGNIFICENT, COLORFUL AND WONDERFUL DESTINY IN CHRIST JESUS

From verse 30 to 35, the angel unveils and uncovers to Mary the beautiful things concerning her glorious destiny and the glorious destiny of her Son.

Luke 1:31  And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS.

Luke 1:32  He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:

Luke 1:33  And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.

Luke 1:35 And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.

What do we see in those powerful words? We see
  •       A destiny of supernatural fruitfulness not of bareness
  •       A destiny of greatness not of smallness
  •       A destiny of highness not of lowness
  •       A destiny of kingship and dominion not of slavery

⏩⏩Mary was highly favoured because she was picked by God to carry Jesus Christ. You too are highly favoured because you carry the same Christ in you ⏪⏪

PRAYER POINTS No 5

1) Mary thought that she would need human help to see this glorious destiny be fulfilled in her life. The angel told her she didn’t need any mortal hand or human help to bring it pass. Only God’s hand was what she needed because WITH GOD NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE.

Lift up your voice and lift up your eyes to the Lord who is in heaven. Pray and ask God to help you to depend on his hand only and to wait upon his hand only for the fulfillment of your glorious destiny.

Read and pray with Daniel 2:34 Thou sawest till that a stone was cut out without hands, which smote the image upon his feet [that were] of iron and clay, and brake them to pieces.

   2) Though what the angel was saying was humanly out of sense, Mary surrendered unconditionally and unquestionably to the power and the wisdom of the Lord and accepted it by faith saying “I am the Lord’s servant. Let everything you’ve said happen to me." (Luke 1:38)

Lift up your voice and pray that the Lord helps you to be able to receive and believe undoubtedly His Word even if it doesn’t make sense to you.

Read and pray with John 1:12 “As many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, [even] to them that believe on his name”

IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST !
JESUS IS LORD !
