Today is DAY 10

Jesus heals the ear of the high priest’s servant

Read Luke 22:50-51

Peter didn't know that when he was cutting Malchus' ear, one of Malchus' relative was there watching him.

We find it in John 18:26 (KJV) "One of the servants of the high priest, being his kinsman whose ear Peter cut off, saith, Did not I see thee in the garden with him?"

What he did was so obvious and evident to be denied, but Peter denied it anyway.

Later, he broke in tears repenting not only for denying Christ but also for misrepresenting him in by acting foolishly in cutting someone's ear.

How many times did you fail to reflect Christ by acting foolishly in public because you are hot tempered ?

INTERCESSORY PRAYER GUIDELINES

PRAYER 1 PRAY THAT GOD'S GRACE FREES YOU FROM BEING HOT TEMPERED

- Father, by your Spirit, I pray and I ask that your power delivers and changes me from being quick-tempered to even-tempered in the Name of Jesus-Christ !

- Father, under uncontrolled anger, I act foolishly and stupidly. Have mercy on me and change me In Jesus Name.

- Father, my hot-tempered attitude causes me to lose friends and damages my relationships with others. I cry for your mercy and pray for the grace to be changed by your grace in Jesus Name.

- Father, being easily angered causes me to easily sin against you. Forgive me, deliver me and change me by your grace in Jesus' name.

- Father, being hot-tempered misrepresents the image of Christ in me and through me. Let your Holy Spirit work in me and cause me to produce and bear the fruit of the Spirit : love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, and temperance:

PRAYER 2 PRAY TO SURRENDER YOUR OWN WAYS TO THE WAYS OF GOD

Peter attacked Malchus ear because he was the guy playing the role of the FBI or the CIA on behalf of the high priest. In fact he was part of the service working for the high priest for the collection, analysis, and exploitation of information concerning Christ.

Cutting off his right ear was a way for Peter to judge and disqualify him from his daily business.

But, when Jesus healed and restored his ear, he gave him an opportunity to go back to the high priest and report to him his personal testimony of Jesus' power and goodness

LET US PRAY

- Father, your ways are higher than mine. Your judgments are unsearchable, unfathomable and inscrutable. Your methods are past finding out, untraceable, mysterious and undiscoverable. Your wisdom is deep and impenetrable. I SURRENDER MY OWN WAYS AND MY OWN WISDOM TO YOUR WAYS AND YOUR WISDOM. LET YOUR WILL BE DONE TODAY NOT MINE
