Wholeness must come before relationship. You cannot build a healthy, successful marriage or relationship if you (or your partner) are emotionally and spiritually broken or "wounded." Problems like divorce, cheating, and conflict are not caused by the marriage itself, but by the unhealed wounds individuals bring into it. You cannot give your partner something (love, peace, respect, joy) that you do not possess yourself.
Lamech brags about killing a man for hurting him, demonstrating that unhealed people use their wounds as weapons against others, especially those closest to them.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, help me never chase a relationship to fix my brokenness. Let me receive true wholeness from You first, before connecting deeply with anyone.
