Reading Of The Day : Luke 3
Key Verse: "Jesus the son of Enos, the son of Seth, the son of Adam, the son of God." (Luke 3:38)
Luke 3 introduces John the Baptist, a fiery prophet preparing the way for Jesus through a baptism of repentance.
Quoting Isaiah, he calls crowds to “produce fruit in keeping with repentance” (3:8), urging ethical renewal: share resources, act justly, reject greed.
John warns of the Messiah’s coming judgment and refining fire, contrasting his water baptism with Jesus’ Spirit-empowered mission.
At Jesus’ baptism, Heaven affirms His identity as God’s Son.
The chapter ends with Jesus’ genealogy, tying Him to Adam, emphasizing His universal role.
John’s boldness challenges complacent faith, prioritizing heart transformation over religious pedigree.
