The "7" I Am' Statements Of Jesus in John | THRS 13-02-2025 | I AM THE GOOD SHEPHERD

● “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep…I am the good shepherd; and I know my sheep, and am known by My own.” (John 10:11, 14).

What is a Shepherd?

● First, let's talk about what a shepherd is. A shepherd is someone who takes care of sheep. Sheep are animals that like to stay together in groups, and they need someone to look after them. The shepherd guides them to places where they can find fresh grass to eat and clean water to drink. He also protects them from danger, like wild animals that might want to harm them.

Jesus, the Caring Shepherd

● Jesus said, "I am the good shepherd." This means that Jesus is the shepherd who takes care of His people. He loves and cares for everyone just like a shepherd loves and cares for his sheep. But Jesus isn't just any shepherd; He is a very special one.

● There are other people who might look after sheep, but if danger comes, like a big scary wolf, they might run away to save themselves. But Jesus is different. He promised that He would never leave His sheep, even if things got tough or scary.

A Promise of Love

● Jesus said something very important: "I lay down My life for the sheep." This means that Jesus is willing to do anything, even give His own life, to protect and save the people He loves. He wants us to know how special we are to Him.

● He also talked about having other sheep that were not part of His group yet. What He meant was that He loves everyone in the world, not just a small group of people. He wanted everyone, no matter where they came from or who they were, to be part of His big, happy family.
