Genesis 12:7: "And the LORD appeared unto Abram, and said, Unto thy seed will I give this land: and there builded he an altar unto the LORD, who appeared unto him."

This verse marks a crucial moment in the biblical narrative, where there is a profound and personal encounter between God and Abram. In this encounter, God promises Abram that the land will belong to his descendants. This appearance underscores the intimate relationship between God and Abram.

In response to God's promise, despite the Canaanites' presence in the land, Abram builds an altar to the LORD. This act serves as a memorial and marker of faith. It symbolizes worship, thanksgiving, praise, and an unwavering belief in God's power to fulfill His promises.
