WEDNESDAY 22-01-2025 | Our thoughts are the seeds of our actions
Evil motivations can disguise themselves behind seemingly good actions. Evil thoughts can often masquerade as innocent or even noble intentions. Apparent good actions can hide beneath evil intentions.
Proverbs 23:7 warns us, "For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee."
This means that our inner thoughts can alter our perceptions of ourselves and others. We may find ourselves justifying harmful actions, convinced they serve a greater good.
We shouldn't underestimate the power of our thoughts. It’s not just our actions but our thoughts that define us. That's why Jesus said in Matthew 5:28, "But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart".
This profound teaching shows that sin begins long before we act; it begins as a mere thought.
Pray …
1. Hope and Transformation
Thank You, Father, for the hope we have in You. Transform my life through the power of Your Spirit, so I may live a life that honors You and draws others to Your love.
2. Judgment and Mercy
Father, I recognize Your righteous judgment as mentioned in Romans 2:5. I pray for Your mercy and grace to guide me away from sin and towards a life that glorifies Your name.
3. Desiring God’s Will
Father, as stated in Romans 1:21-23, when we turn from You, we become futile in our thinking. Keep my desires aligned with Your will, and let me not be darkened in my understanding but live in Your light.
4. Hope and Transformation
Thank You, Father, for Romans 12:2, which promises transformation through the renewal of our minds. Transform my heart and mind so that I may live in a way that honors You.
