TEXT REFERENCE | Luke 10:25-37 King James Version

Luke 10:25 And, behold, a certain lawyer stood up, and tempted him, saying, Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?

Luke 10:26 He said unto him, What is written in the law? how readest thou?

Luke 10:27 And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.

Luke 10:28 And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live.

Luke 10:29 But he, willing to justify himself, said unto Jesus, And who is my neighbour?

Luke 10:30 And Jesus answering said, A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, which stripped him of his raiment, and wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead.

Luke 10:31 And by chance there came down a certain priest that way: and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side.

Luke 10:32 And likewise a Levite, when he was at the place, came and looked on him, and passed by on the other side.

Luke 10:33 But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him,

Luke 10:34 And went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him.

Luke 10:35 And on the morrow when he departed, he took out two pence, and gave them to the host, and said unto him, Take care of him; and whatsoever thou spendest more, when I come again, I will repay thee.

Luke 10:36 Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was neighbour unto him that fell among the thieves?

Luke 10:37 And he said, He that shewed mercy on him. Then said Jesus unto him, Go, and do thou likewise.

● CHAPTER 1 | *HOW DO I KNOW THAT I AM UNDER THE SIEGE OF HELPLESSNESS?*

*CASE 1* When no one wants to help you.

- In the story of the good Samaritan, the hurt man was passed by the roadside, until the good Samaritan showed up and helped him.

Luke 10:30-33 NKJV

Then Jesus answered and said: "A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, who stripped him of his clothing, wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead.

[31] Now by chance a certain priest came down that road. And when he saw him, he passed by on the other side.

[32] Likewise a Levite, when he arrived at the place, came and looked, and passed by on the other side.

[33] But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was. And when he saw him, he had compassion.

2 Kings 2:23 KJV

And he went up from thence unto Beth-el: and as he was going up by the way, there came forth little children out of the city, and mocked him, and said unto him, Go up, thou bald head; go up, thou bald head.

2 Kings 2:24 KJV

And he turned back, and looked on them, and cursed them in the name of the Lord. And there came forth two she bears out of the wood, and tare forty and two children of them.

Hear me and hear me well ...

It is God who touches the heart of men to provide the help you need.

Abraham a wealthy man gave only a bottle to Hagar.

*CASE 2 * When those who are meant to help can't help you, even though they want to.

- The King wanted to keep Daniel from the den of lions but he couldn't. *Dan 6:14*

Daniel 6:14 KJVS

Then the king, when he heard these words, was sore displeased with himself, and set his heart on Daniel to deliver him: and he laboured till the going down of the sun to deliver him.

- Though Jacob loved Rachel, but despite this he couldn't help her to conceive.

Genesis 30:1-2 NKJV

Now when Rachel saw that she bore Jacob no children, Rachel envied her sister, and said to Jacob, "Give me children, or else I die!"

[2] And Jacob's anger was aroused against Rachel, and he said, "Am I in the place of God, who has withheld from you the fruit of the womb?"

Friends, remove forever your eyes from people.

- Hannah's husband loved her but he couldn't help her to conceive.

1 Samuel 1:8 NKJV

Then Elkanah her husband said to her, "Hannah, why do you weep? Why do you not eat? And why is your heart grieved? Am I not better to you than ten sons?"

Friends, human's help is limited.

There are things only God can give to you

*CASE 3* When they want to but it is beyond their ability.

- When Israel was between the army of Egypt and the Red Sea, no one could help them but God.

Exodus 14:14-16 NKJV

The LORD will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace."

[15] And the LORD said to Moses, "Why do you cry to Me? Tell the children of Israel to go forward.

[16] But lift up your rod, and stretch out your hand over the sea and divide it. And the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea.

*CASE 4* When the help is available and ready, but the devil hinders the help from reaching you.

Daniel 10:12-13 NKJV

Then he said to me, "Do not fear, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart to understand, and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard; and I have come because of your words.

[13] But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me twenty-one days; and behold, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, for I had been left alone there with the kings of Persia.

- Today, the help that God has intended for you will reach you.

- It is therefore your responsibility to take the Word given to you by Faith.

- Take note that God never intended human beings to be helpless.

- *A WORD TO YOU* . . . When it is beyond the capacity of men, the Lord will intervene for you.

● *PRAYER*

Father, I bring this  situation before you this night, I will never lack help for it, because your intention was never for me to be helpless.

*CASE 5* God releases help for you, but the kingdom of darkness attacks it before it reaches you.

● For example, the enemy can attack your helper before they reach you.

● The enemy can also attack your helpers through  dreams and visions misrepresenting you before their eyes to stop them to reach you.

● I declare silenced voices misrepresenting you tonight in Jesus name.

● *PRAYER*

Lord,  silence the voices  misrepresenting me in Jesus name.

*CASE 6* God sends help to you and it gets diverted.

● Jonah was called to Nineveh but he used the wrong route and went to Japho.

Jonah 1:4 KJV

But the Lord sent out a great wind into the sea, and there was a mighty tempest in the sea, so that the ship was like to be broken.

● The wise men were diverted as they went to worship the King to Jerusalem while Jesus was in Bethlehem.

Matthew 2:9-10 KJV

When they had heard the king, they departed; and, lo, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, till it came and stood over where the young child was.

[10] When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy.

● The Good News is they were redirected to go back where they were sent to go. Hallelujah!!!

● *PRAYER*

● Lord God, send a wind, and bring back my Jonah. Wherever my help is divereted,  redirect it to me.

*CASE 7* | God sends help but it gets discouraged

When Jesus was going to resurrect Lazarus, he was discouraged by Martha the sister  ( *John 11:39*)

When your helpers come to you from the Lord, the enemy can discourage them by misrepresenting you and reminding them how bad you smell.

Joh 11:39  Jesus said, Take ye away the stone. Martha, the sister of him that was dead, saith unto him, Lord, by this time he stinketh: for he hath been dead four days.

I pray that any evil stench coming from the grave of hell and meant to keep you helpless turn around now in the Name Of Jesus Christ !

*CASE 8* | Demonic blocage

God sent an angel with Daniel's answer. But a demon stopped him for 21 days.

Dan 10:12  Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words.

Dan 10:13  But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia.

But thank God an angelic reinforcement took place and the help reached its destination

*Case 9* | The Absalom factor

Absalom managed to steal the heart of the men of Israel who helped David and diverted them to him. *2 Samuel 15:6*

2 Sa 15:6  And on this manner did Absalom to all Israel that came to the king for judgment: so Absalom stole the hearts of the men of Israel.

*CHAPTER 2 | WHAT HAPPENS WHEN ONE IS HELPLESS?*

I’ve come to understand and realize that *helplessness can be a product, a result, a consequence of forces of darkness at work behind the scene.

In other words, *powers of darkness can interfere and stop the help from reaching its destination*.

Let us look at 2 occurrences in the Bible

*Case 1* | *Lamentations 1:7*,

Lamentations 1:7 NKJV

In the days of her affliction and roaming, Jerusalem remembers all her pleasant things That she had in the days of old. When her people fell into the hand of the enemy, With no one to help her, The adversaries saw her And MOCKED AT HER DOWNFALL.

*Case 2* | *2 Kings 14:26*,

From the 2 texts we have read, it is clear that there were forces of darkness keeping Israel helpless and enjoying to see her in bitter affliction, in misery, in pain, in trouble, in struggle etc.

● *Fact 1* |  When one is helpless, they will suffer shame/disgrace and be confounded.

*Isaiah 50:7 KJV*, For the Lord God will help me; therefore shall I not be confounded: therefore have I set my face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be ashamed.

Hebrews 4:16 KJV

Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

● *Fact 2* | From *Lamentations 1:7*, we learn that when one is helpless, *they become the mockery of men -

● *PRAYER*

Father Lord, in Jesus name, i bring this situation, to you. Unless you help me, my enemies will mock me. Do not allow me to suffer shame.

● *Fact 3* | From *Josh 4:24*, when you are helpless, *people will not know your God* and will ask you where is your God?

Joshua 4:23-24 GNT

Tell them that the LORD your God dried up the water of the Jordan for you until you had crossed, just as he dried up the Red Sea for us.

[24] Because of this everyone on earth will know how great the LORD's power is, and you will honor the LORD your God forever."

Micah 7:10 KJV

Then she that is mine enemy shall see it, and shame shall cover her which said unto me, Where is the Lord thy God? mine eyes shall behold her: now shall she be trodden down as the mire of the streets.

● I declare ...

*God will intervene for you and people will know that you have a God*

● *PRAYER*

● Father, intervene for me oh Lord, for the people of the earth to know that it is your hand. That it's you who did it. That I may have a testimony to tell.

● *FACT 4* | From *2 Ki 14:26*, when you're helpless, life becomes bitter.

2 Kings 14:26-27 KJV

For the Lord saw the affliction of Israel, that it was very bitter: for there was not any shut up, nor any left, nor any helper for Israel.

[27] And the Lord said not that he would blot out the name of Israel from under heaven: but he saved them by the hand of Jeroboam the son of Joash.

- May the Lord intervene to sweeten your life.

● *PRAYER*

- Lord, intervene over this situation that is causing me bitterness.  Intervene and take it away In the name of Jesus.

- Lord ,thank you, for are intervening for me to remove bitterness in me IJN.

Genesis 2:18 KJV

And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.

Joshua 5:9 KJV

And the Lord said unto Joshua, This day have I rolled away the reproach of Egypt from off you. Wherefore the name of the place is called Gilgal unto this day.

*CHAPTER 3* | *WHAT DO YOU DO TO ACCESS DIVINE HELP?*

● In Hebrews 4:16, we read ... Let us therefore COME boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

● Divine intervention is available at the throne of grace. It is from the throne of grace that we find grace. But it is you TO COME BOLDLY to find it.

1Sa 7:2  And it came to pass, while the ark abode in Kirjathjearim, that the time was long; for it was twenty years: and all the house of Israel lamented after the LORD.

1Sa 7:3 And Samuel spake unto all the house of Israel, saying, If ye do return unto the LORD with all your hearts, then put away the strange gods and Ashtaroth from among you, and prepare your hearts unto the LORD, and serve him only: and he will deliver you out of the hand of the Philistines.

LESSON 1 | GOD DOES NOT HELP THOSE WHO HELP THEMSELVES. GOD HELPS THOSE WHO CRY TO HIM FOR HELP

Until they lamented before the Lord, the people were still in captivity.

When they came to the throne of grace for help, they found it through SAMUEL

We have a whole generation of believers who don't know how to access grace.

LESSON 2 | Grace does not come through an institution. Grace does not come through this building. Grace does not come through its decor. Grace comes through a human vessel. In this specific case, it was Samuel.

Joh 13:20  Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that receiveth whomsoever I send receiveth me; and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me.

Paul writing to the Church in Philippians 1:7 says,

"You are partakers of God's grace in me"

That means I am not just a messenger. My job is to deliver grace to you and I deliver the grace to you packaged in doctrine.

MOSES |

When the nation of Israel cried out to God under bitter oppression in Egypt, God's solution was a man called Moses to not only deliver them, but also to protect them.

Exodus 2:23  And it came to pass in process of time, that the king of Egypt died: and the children of Israel sighed by reason of the bondage, and they cried, and their cry came up unto God by reason of the bondage.

Hos 12:13  And by a prophet the LORD brought Israel out of Egypt, and by a prophet was he preserved.

JOSEPH |

When they were in famine, God's solution again was a man called Joseph.

Genesis 50:21  Now therefore fear ye not: I will nourish you, and your little ones. And he comforted them, and spake kindly unto them.

JUDGES |

When you go to the book of Judges, Othniel brought the grace. Elihud brought the grace. Shamgar brought the grace. Deborah brought the grace. Gideon brought the grace.

A single person Ehud brought the 80 years of grace. Deborah brought in 40 years of grace. Gideon brought in 40 years of grace.

All of them were grace carriers.

SAMUEL |

The Bible says in 1 Samuel 7:13, "The hand of the Lord was against the Philistines all the days of Samuel".

1- Discouragement overturned

1Sa 7:2  And it came to pass, while the ark abode in Kirjathjearim, that the time was long; for it was twenty years: and all the house of Israel lamented after the LORD.

1Sa 7:11  And the men of Israel went out of Mizpeh, and pursued the Philistines, and smote them, until they came under Bethcar.

2- Defeat overturned

1Sa 7:10  And as Samuel was offering up the burnt offering, the Philistines drew near to battle against Israel: but the LORD thundered with a great thunder on that day upon the Philistines, and discomfited them; and they were smitten before Israel.

3- Dominion of the Philistines overturned

1Sa 7:13  So the Philistines were subdued, and they came no more into the coast of Israel: and the hand of the LORD was against the Philistines all the days of Samuel.

4- Dispossession from the Philistines overturned

1Sa 7:14  And the cities which the Philistines had taken from Israel were restored to Israel, from Ekron even unto Gath; and the coasts thereof did Israel deliver out of the hands of the Philistines. And there was peace between Israel and the Amorites.

LESSON 3 | Receive the Source Of Grace and the Carrier Of Grace for grace to flow.

Joh 13:20 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that receiveth whomsoever I send receiveth me; and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me.

LESSON 4 | Receive with revelation and understanding.

If the carrier of grace is an apostle, you will receive an apostolic grace. If the carrier of grace is an evangelist, you receive an evangelistic grace.

Mat 10:41  He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet's reward; and he that receiveth a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man's reward.

The Shunammite woman who recognized Elisha said to her husband,

2Ki 4:9  And she said unto her husband, Behold now, I perceive that this is an holy man of God, which passeth by us continually.

As soon as she received him as the man of God, the grace of God upon the man of God delivered her from infertility and resurrection came into her house. In the time of famine, her  properties were restored.

IN JESUS NAME ! AMEN!!!
