THE PROBLEM OF TRANS-GENERATIONAL STRONGHOLDS

And Salah lived thirty years, and begat Eber:And Salah lived after he begat Eber four hundred and three years, and begat sons and daughters. And Eber lived four and thirty years, and begat Peleg: And Eber lived after he begat Peleg four hundred and thirty years, and begat sons and daughters. And Peleg lived thirty years, and begat Reu: And Peleg lived after he begat Reu two hundred and nine years, and begat sons and daughters. And Reu lived two and thirty years, and begat Serug: And Reu lived after he begat Serug two hundred and seven years, and begat sons and daughters. And Serug lived thirty years, and begat Nahor: And Serug lived after he begat Nahor two hundred years, and begat sons and daughters. And Nahor lived nine and twenty years, and begat Terah: And Nahor lived after he begat Terah an hundred and nineteen years, and begat sons and daughters. And Terah lived seventy years, and begat Abram, Nahor, and Haran. Now these are the generations of Terah: Terah begat Abram, Nahor, and Haran; and Haran begat Lot. And Haran died before his father Terah in the land of his nativity, in Ur of the Chaldees. And Abram and Nahor took them wives: the name of Abram's wife was Sarai; and the name of Nahor's wife, Milcah, the daughter of Haran, the father of Milcah, and the father of Iscah. But Sarai was barren; she had no child. And Terah took Abram his son, and Lot the son of Haran his son's son, and Sarai his daughter in law, his son Abram's wife; and they went forth with them from Ur of the Chaldees, to go into the land of Canaan; and they came unto Haran, and dwelt there. And the days of Terah were two hundred and five years: and Terah died in Haran (Genesis 11:14-32).

According to the passage above, the descendants of Abraham before Terah had their firstborns before 39 years of age. Terah the father of Abraham was the first to have his firstborn at 70 years of age. Terah’s own father had him at 29 years old.

Therefore, the problem of delay in child bearing started with Terah. This problem unfortunately continued down his generation, as Abraham had his first born at 86 years of age.

The name ‘Terah’ means delay.

In other words, Terah introduced the spiritual virus of delay into Abraham’s lineage.

Consequently, everyone in the generation of Terah suffered the problem of delay in child bearing. Isaac was about 66 years before he had Jacob and Esau.

The trend was arrested in the life of Joseph who gave birth to Manasseh without any experience of delay. Delay in child bearing became a stronghold from Terah, but was broken from Joseph.

● *What is the spirit of Terah?*

● *a. Terah is the spirit of delay* .( *Gen 11:14-17, Gen 11:26*)

● Terah was Abraham's father. His name means delay.

● Everyone in Terahs genealogy sired in their 30's. But Terah in his 70's.

*b. Terah is the spirit of premature death*. ( *Gen 11:28, Num 14:35*)

● In his lineage, Terah was the only one to bury his son.

● Tonight, let us revoke and rebuke the spirit of Terah in our families and our children in the Name Of Jesus Christ!

- Genesis 11:31 NKJV And Terah took his son Abram and his grandson Lot, the son of Haran, and his daughter-in-law Sarai, his son Abram's wife, and they went out with them from Ur of the Chaldeans to go to the land of Canaan; and they came to Haran and dwelt there.

- Those people left Ur and were going to Canaan

- They didn't reach Canaan. They reached Haran. They decided to settle there.

- Obviously Terah died there without reaching where he was supposed to reach.

- I prophesy over you. You will reach your Canaan. You will not die at Haran.

● *Father, In the Name Of Jesus Christ*,

● I curse the spirit of Terah in my life. It is not my portion in Jesus name

● My life will not resemble Terah's life, I will not suffer what Terah suffered.

● I will never bury my children.

● There shall be no premature death in my family. Longevity is my portion.

● I decree miscarriage shall never be my portion in Jesus name.

● The spirit of Terah shall never be mentioned in my life.

● I will live long. I will see my children live long.

● Whatever God has in store for me in 2023, I shall experience it.

So shall it be !
