PENIEL ENCOUNTER NIGHT | FRIDAY 22-07-2022 | NIGHT OF CONTENTION
Deuteronomy 2:24
- We don’t contend to be given. We contend for what has been already and freely given to us by God.
God gives us freely. We possess it forcefully.
● CHAPTER 1 | WHAT DOES CONTEND MEAN?
- Contend means to fight in order to move our God-given possession from the spiritual realm to the physical realm.
● CHAPTER 2 | WHY CONTEND?
Deut 2:24 shows there are enemies in the land. We contend to drive away them away.
In every promise land there are giants. Giants can be sickness, divorce, alcoholisim, barreness, infidelity, poverty …
We must contend because the enemy is a stubborn enemy.
● CHAPTER 3 | WHAT ARE WE CONTENDING FOR?
1. Territory Deuteronomy 2:24
The land is already given. Contend to possess it.
- If you don’t contend, the enemy will kick you out of your territory. ( Mat 12:34 )
2. Salvation Isaiah 49:25-27
The price for salvation has been already paid.
But the enemy still resists the freedom of his captives.
Contend for the salvation of your loved ones and set the captives free. ( Isaiah 49:25 )
3. God’s Promises 1 Timothy 1:18
Any word of prophecy from God is already done and settled in heaven.
The fulfilment of God’s promises requires contention.
The area of your battle is the area of your prophesies ( 1 Timothy 1:18, Gen 12:3 )
4. Open doors 1 Corinthians 16:9
Doors are already opened and no devil can shut it. Revelation 3:8
It's you to contend against the adversaries appointed to prevent you access. ( 1 Cor 16:9 )
The devil doesn’t have the key. Jesus does.
All he can do to prevent you access is to intimidate and paralyze you with fear. ( Rev 3:18 )
5. Answered Prayers
- God has already answered you. ( Dan 10:12-13 )
Contend to clear the opposition of the Prince of Persia hindering the answer to your prayer to reach you where you are.
● CHAPTER 4 | HOW TO CONTEND
1. Arise
In 1 Kings 3:21, the woman arose in the morning and contended for her child.
To arise means to get out of slumber in order for you to contend for what is yours.
2. Appropriate
- Own God’s promises, prophesies, open doors, land and answers. ( Exodus 23:25 )
3. Advancing
Contend requires taking steps, moving forward …
4. Attacking
Contend by taking authority.
When the devil attacks you, don’t just sit there, attack back with the Word of God.
5. Association
You can not contend alone. Contend with fellow believers with whom you share the same faith.
Two are better than one. Have a prayer partner and attend to Church services.
6. Apply the Word
Contention happens by complying with divine instructions.
● PRAYER GUIDELINES
Father, in Jesus Name ...
• I Appropriate the doors opened for me, the promises and prophesies.
• I Cast out the devil, his agents and all witches camping at my open doors.
• From now on, I take steps and enter the door of my advancement, blessings and fruitfulness.
