*Biblical principles of friendship*

*1. Everyone cannot and should not be a close friend* 

Pr 18:24 “A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother”

Select your friends wisely. Wrong friends bring harm. Walk with people with which you go up together. Walk with encouragers not discouragers.

*2. Know when to leave a friend alone*

Pr 25:17 "Do not set foot in your neighbor’s house too often. Otherwise, he will see too much of you and hate you".

Learn when to give your friends space.

*3. To have a friend, be a friend*

Pr. 27:17 “Iron sharpens iron... ”

Friendship must be about something to share and somewhere to go. Those who have nothing to share and are going nowhere have nothing to do with you.

*4. True friends will tell you the truth*

Pr 27:5-6 “Better is open rebuke than hidden love. Faithful are the wounds of a friend; profuse are the kisses of an enemy”

A flatter is as dangerous as an enemy.
