What is the difference between battle and war?

FOOD FOR THOUGHT
... PENIEL IS TOMORROW ...

What is the difference between battle and war?

Battle is more of a physical combat, while war is more strategic. There are many battles fought in a war.

Let’s assume that a war is similar to a boxing match.

Each match has three or more rounds. Now, if the match is war, the rounds are the battles. A person may end up losing the rounds, but if in the end manages to knock out the opponent, he wins the match. Similarly, one opponent may lose all the battles but can still end up winning the war.

Lesson 1 : Just because you have won a battle does not mean that you have won the war. Did you get healed ? Did you get a job? Did you get a marriage ? Did you get a promotion ? Did you get a breakthrough in your finances ? Congratulation. But it is just a round in the war. Don't give way to pride. Don't relax in prayer. Don't look down on those who ministered to you to get there. Don't think you have arrived.
James 4:6 But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.
Lesson 2 : Just because you have lost a battle does not mean that you have lost the war. Did you fall into sin? Are things not working well in your marriage? Did you fail an exam? Are you facing challenges of all kind? Sorry for that. But it is also just a round in the war. You can rise again and make things better. You can succeed again where you have previously failed. You can overcome that sin and walk uprightly by the grace of the Lord.
Micah 7:8 Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the LORD [shall be] a light unto me.
