Ephesians 6:16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
*REFLECT*
According to the Word read today, it appears clearly that Satan's arrows are not just hurtful, pointy and painful; THEY ARE ON FIRE.
A fiery arrow does not just stick in and wound its target; a fiery arrow’s destruction spreads from that initial insertion point. And it grows. It consumes, and it burns up the thing that it hits.
According to this text, how many darts or arrows can we extinguish with the shield of faith? ALL of them. Not ONE of his darts needs to hurt us. They can ALL be extinguished — by the shield of faith.
Look at what it says the shield of faith does: “it extinguishes or quenches all the flaming arrows of the evil one”. Now wait – shields don’t extinguish fires – water does, or foam, or CO2.
*HOW CAN A SHIELD EXTINGUISH A FIRE*
The devil will always throw his fiery arrows (of curses, of insults, of verbal assaults, of humiliation, of discouragement, of evil thoughts, of fear, of doubt, of bitter critics, of bitterness, of bad reports, ...) against you.
He may whisper thoughts like, “Don’t you think if God wanted to do it, He would have done it by now?” “If the Word of God truly works, how come it hasn’t worked for you?” “What if you don’t get healed?” “What if you give to God and can’t pay your bills?” “Seek alternatives.”
a. Find scriptural texts that address the sword blows or arrows Satan is throwing at you.
b. Write them on the table of your heart, or better still, in a book where you can see them.
c. Put them in your mouth. Give voice to the Word. Confess them over yourself and against the arrows flying your way.
d. Repeat first 3 steps as often as needed or daily.
e. If symptoms persist…increase the dosage!
*RESPOND IN PRAYER*
By faith, I quench the arrow of fear.
By faith, I quench the arrow of discouragement.
By faith, I quench the arrow of doubt.
By faith, I quench the arrow of evil thoughts.
By faith, I quench the arrow of curses.
By faith, I quench the arrow of insults, verbal assaults against me.
By faith, I quench the arrow of humiliation.
By faith, I quench the arrow of bitterness.
IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST !
SO SHALL IT BE!
JESUS IS LORD!
