In Malachi 3:18, The Lord emphasizes about the difference between his people and the wicked and between those who serve Him and those who do not serve him, saying,
“Then YOU WILL AGAIN SEE THE DIFFERENCE between righteous people and wicked people, between the one who serves God and the one who doesn’t serve him.”
The difference we are talking about is not a manmade or an artificial product. It is a God-made product proceeding straight from the mighty hand of God at work among his people.
Back to Exodus, the Lord was already making a clear difference and distinction between Israel his people and the people of Egypt. In Exodus 8:22, for example, the Lord himself says very clearly :
"I will not treat the Israelites the same as the Egyptians"
Are you a child or a son of God? If you are one, the Lord God is reminding you today that your case is different. Not because of yourself. Not because you are better than anybody. Not because of your good works. But because of his covenant made with you and sealed with the blood of his Son Jesus Christ the Just.
Therefore, because your case is different, what affects, what afflicts and what disturbs others is not permitted to affect, to afflict or to disturb you.

"When [men] are cast down, then I shalt say, [There is] lifting up..."
SO SHALL IT BE!
