THE ABSALOM SPIRIT
*READ*
2 Samuel 15:2 And Absalom rose up early, and stood beside the way of the gate: and it was [so], that when any man that had a controversy came to the king for judgment, then Absalom called unto him, and said, Of what city [art] thou? And he said, Thy servant [is] of one of the tribes of Israel.
*REFLECT*
Absalom was the third son of David. He was handsome and well praised and appreciated among the people (2 Samuel 14:25). It made him proud. So he rebelled against his father and worked subtly and treacherously to dethrone him and take his place as the king of Israel.
*What was his strategy?* His strategy was threefold. *First of all* standing at the gate leading to the king's palace early in the morning without the knowledge of the king. *Secondly*, diverting and stealing people's heart from David to him by showing them how bad David was and how good things will be for them if ever he became king. *Finally*, gathering the people he had won to rebel and overthrow David from the throne and take his place.
He reigned only few days because his hair hanged on a tree while riding his horse and he died.
*Absalom spirit* is the most dangerous of all evil spirits ever. That spirit works against you in secret but shows in public to be with you.
*Absalom spirit* is with you and around you but bitter about your happiness, position, joy, success, progress.
*Absalom spirit* is overcritical and oversuspicious about everything happening in the leadership of the church or of the country or of the company. The only thing he sees is negative.
*Absalom spirit* is a spirit of people who have evil agendas against others but hide themselves behind "kindness", "praise the Lord", "Bwana Asifiwe".
*Absalom spirit* is a spirit of those who work hard to divert people who love you, admire you, matter to you by misrepresenting you in their eyes and turn them against you.
*Absalom spirit* is a spirit that overemphasizes on your weaknesses to make you look ugly and makes himself look good,
*Absalom spirit* plans and strategizes secretly to kick you out of your job, your marriage, to misplace you from your position, to take away your blessings.
*Absalom spirit* targets those God has appointed to help you to cut you from any support in life.
*RESPOND IN PRAYER*
• Father, expose that Absalom in the Name of Jesus Christ!
• Father, keep away from me that Absalom in the Name of Jesus Christ!
• Father, Absalom will never manage to overthrow me from my position in the Name of Jesus Christ!
• Father, I pray that the hidden plans of Absalom against me will work to kill himself in the Name of Jesus Christ!
• Father, keep the heart of those you have appointed to work with me to be genuine in the Name of Jesus Christ!
• If that spirit is in me, Father, deliver me and have mercy on me!
