GOD WANTS MY JOY TO BE FULL
*READ*
John 16:24 "Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: *ask, and ye shall receive*, *that your joy may be full*."
*REFLECT*
Many people have a wrong image of God. They consider God as being difficult, complicated, hard, tough, uncaring, insensitive to the need of men, ...That is the lie of the devil who misrepresents God in order to deceive you and disconnect you from Him.
God is not only interested with your spirit. He is also interested with your soul and with your body. To prove it, Jesus did not only offer people the Word (spiritual food) but he also offered them physical food. However, people should not follow him only for the physical food but more importantly for the spiritual food.
As we are closing the fast today, please take note of the fact that *one major reason why God wants you to pray and expect answer to your prayer is *to make your joy full*.
That is what Jesus himself says in John 16:24 "Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: *ask, and ye shall receive*, *that your joy may be full*."
Paul confirms the same truth in *1 Timothy 6:17* saying that, " *God giveth us richly all things to enjoy*"
Let us be practical so that we will stop pretending to be more spiritual.than Jesus himself. Is your joy full when you are jobless? when you are unmarried or when your marriage is suffering? when you are constantly sick ? struggling for survival?
NO ... NO ... NO ...And God knows it. That's why he says to Moses when his people were suffering in Egypt, "I have seen their afflictions ... I know their sorrows... I have come to deliver them" (Exodus 3:7-8)
MY FRIEND, GOD HAS SEEN YOUR AFFLICTION. HE KNOWS YOUR SORROWS. HE HAS FINALLY COME TO DELIVER YOU TO MAKE YOUR JOY FULL ...
By his word, Jesus is telling us this in other words : "...
1/ I know that being jobless does not make your joy full. Ask me job and I will give you that your joy may be full.
2/ I know that being unmarried does not make your joy full (unless you are called for a life of celibacy). Ask me marriage and I will give you that your joy may be full.
3/ I know that living in a troubled marriage doesn't make your joy full. Ask me peace and rest and I will give you that your joy may be full.
4/ I know that being poor, struggling for living does not make your joy full. Ask me to prosper you and I will make it that your joy may be full.
5/ I know that being constantly sick, permanently barren does not make your joy full. Ask me to heal you and allow you to conceive that your joy may be full.
6/ I know that having challenges with your children does not make your joy full. Ask me to settle them that your joy may be full.
7/ I know you have a need that does not make your joy full. Ask me and I will give to you that your joy may be full.
