WHY NOT THE BAKER?

*READING*

*Genesis 40:17*, "In the uppermost basket [there was] of all manner of bakemeats for Pharaoh; and *the birds did eat them out of the basket upon my head*."

*REFLECT*

While Joseph was in prison, two other important men (Pharaoh's cupbearer and baker) where thrown into jail with him. Both had a dream on the same night.

God gave Joseph the meaning of the cupbearer’s dream. Things would turn out very well for the cupbearer - soon he would be out of prison and restored to serve Pharaoh once again.

Sadly, things were not going to go well for the baker. Joseph told the baker that in three days, Pharaoh was going to order that he be killed, and will never be restored ... This was a terrible fate for the baker!

*RESPOND IN PRAYER*

Why did the baker fail to experience restoration?

In *Genesis 40:17*, he describes himself his dream to Joseph saying, "... *the birds did eat the bakemeats out of the basket upon my head*."

From the description of his dream, it is clear that he saw birds (symbole of evil spirits) eating out bakemeats for Pharaoh, but he did nothing to stop their activities. As a matter of fact, while the other was restored, him was not restored. GOD FORBID!

LET US PRAY ...

*PRAYER 1* | His dream shows that he was a lazy man (idle, indolent, slothful, inert, heavy, dull, ...). 

*RESTORATION IS FOR THE DILIGENT (THE HARDWORKERS) NOT FOR THE LAZY.*

Pray against the spirit of laziness in your life!

PRAYER 2 | He was a passive man, meaning he allows and permits the birds, to eat right in his head and he does not react at all. 

*RESTORATION IS FOR THE ACTIVE NOT THE PASSIVE.* 

Pray against spiritual passivity (doing nothing while the enemy is destroying your life, your marriage, your children, ... ) in your life in the Name of Jesus Christ!*

PRAYER 3 | He was not fervent in spirit, meaning he is spiritually cold, he lacks the fire of the Spirit, he is not committed, he is just there, he is superficial, he has no zeal.

*RESTORATION IS FOR THE FERVENT IN SPIRIT*

Pray for spiritual fervency, for fire to burn hotter at your prayer altar, for spiritual commitment, for the zeal of the Lord in your spirit.

PRAYER 4 | He was a careless man, meaning inattentive, incautious, negligent, remiss.

Pray against carelessness
