DAY 3
NEVER LET GOD BE DISAPPOINTED IN YOU
*READ*
*1 Samuel 15:35* "... *the LORD repented* that he had made Saul king over Israel."
*REFLECT*
Can God repent? Someone may ask. Yes. God can repent not for committing any sin since God cannot commit any sin. He can repent in the sense of regretting and being disappointed. Yes. God can be disappointed over someone or over something that one has done or failed to do.
In today's text, God is disappointed for having made Saul king. Because of his attitude of pride, arrogance, unrepentance and disrespect toward the Lord and his servant the prophet Samuel. For disappointing God, the Lord has taken away his Kingdom forever and there was no hope for any recovery or restoration.
Many today have been blessed by God (with a husband, a wife, a diploma, a degree, a job, a bank account, business opportunities, ...) but they have become proud, arrogant, disrespectful, unrepentant, full of themselves, prayerless, careless, carnal, ...
Today, at the mountain of recovery and restoration, the Lord is calling us to be careful to never take his grace for granted so that we would not be grounded. You know what ? Saul never recovered and was never restored because of pride, arrogance and lack of genuine repentance.
