Jesus Christ makes it clear that "He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much." (Luke 16:10). We might extend the Word of Jesus by saying, "He that is patient in that which is least is patient also in much"
Today our mediitation will be a personal test to help us determine how patient we are both toward others and toward ourselves.
One of the best ways I believe to determine the level of patience is to consider our little daily habits.
1. When driving, does it kill you to decrease your speed in 25 mph zones?
2. When waiting for a parking space in a busy parking lot, does your heart rate increase?
3. When in a queue (in a bank, in a hospital, in a supermarket,...), can you stand without being annoyed?
4. When doing the homework with your son or daughter, does it happen to you to lose patience when he/she is not understanding quickly the question?
5. Thinking of buying something new, but don’t have the money yet, do you think to borrow or do you save or wait until you have the money in cash?
6. When you have something to say in the middle of a conversation, do you Wait or do you cut it to make your opinion heard?
7. When you see the traffic light turn yellow, do you floor it through the intersection?
8. When you reach home and notice that you don't have the key and you have to wait for your partner to come with it to open to you, how do you react?
9. When the Wi-fi or the internet in your phone or tablet or computer is slow to connect. how do you react?
10. When you are in a conversation with someone who seems to contradict you and not understand your point of view, how do you react?
11. When you buy something to eat, do you wait until you reach the appropriate place to eat or are you so impatient that you eat as you walk?
12. When you are dating and you are not yet married, can you wait until you are married to have sex?
13. When you call someone who is not picking quickly, how do you react?
14. When you keep on repeating the same thing but your partner, your colleague, your child seems not to understand, how do you react?
15. When at home you wait for your turn to use the bathroom,, the sink, how do you behave?
etc...
CONCLUSION
PATIENCE IS MORE ABOUT HOW YOU WAIT THAN WAITING ITSELF ...SO, HOW TO WAIT ? WAIT PATIENTLY AND CALMLY ... "My soul waits calmly for God alone. My salvation comes from him" (Psalms 62:1).
FROM YOUR OWN TEST, WHAT CAN BE YOUR PRAYER TODAY?
