BLESSED TO SERVE
READINGS : Matthew 8:14-15; Mark 1:29-31; Luke 4:38-39
Today's miracle is about Jesus Christ healing Peter's mother in law who was sick of a fever. In order for the miracle to occur, the Bible says that Jesus "touched her hand" (Matthew 8:15). As soon as Jesus touched her hand, three things happened : first, "the fever left her"; second, "she arose" and third, "she ministered unto them"
As I meditate over this miracle, I'm asking a question, "Why did Jesus touch the hand?"
1st reason : Because it was part of Jesus' method to touch the damaged part to bring healing.
Anytime Jesus stretched his hand, he was always touching the damaged part of the body or the part under attack. In Matthew 9:29 and Matthew 20:34, he touched the eyes of the blind and healed them. In Luke 22:51, he touched the ear of Malchus and healed him.
LIFE APPLICATION : No matter how damaged is a thing, when Jesus' hand touches it, restoration takes automatically place.
What is it damaged in your life? Which part of your body is it damaged? Which part of your life is it damaged? Is it your emotion? Is it your feeling? Is it your relationship? Is it your marriage? HE CAN TOUCH IT AND HEAL IT IF YOU BELIEVE.
PRAYER 1 | PRAY FOR THAT DAMAGED PART OF YOUR LIFE (FEELING, EMOTION, RELATIONSHIP, DREAM, ...) AND CAST INTO JESUS’ HAND. AS HIS CUSTOM IS, HE WILL TOUCH IT AND RESTORE IT TODAY. JUST HAVE FAITH AND EXPECT HIM TO DO SO.
2nd reason : Jesus came to touch her hand because it was the hand dedicated to serve, help, minister to others. He touched it so that it would be restored and reconnected to the purpose.
Immediately after Jesus healed her, the first thing she did was to minister (serve) to the needs of others. (Matthew 8:15)
LIFE APPLICATION : The purpose of Jesus' touch is not only for your own benefit but also that through you many others should be touched and healed as well. The reason why many don't and won't experience Jesus's touch is because they want it for the wrong reason--for their own pleasure (James 4:3).
Why do you want Jesus to heal you? Why do you want Jesus to give you a job? Why do you waht Jesus to give you marriage? Is it for the purpose of serving the Lord or to serve your own interest?
PRAYER 2 | PRAY TODAY THAT THE SAME HAND THAT TOUCHED THE HAND OF PETER'S MOTHER-IN-LAW WILL TOUCH AND RESTORE YOUR LIFE TO SERVE HIM AND SERVE THE WELFARE OF OTHERS.
Why do you want Jesus to heal you? Why do you want Jesus to give you a job? Why do you waht Jesus to give you marriage? Is it for the purpose of serving the Lord or to serve your own interest?
PRAYER 2 | PRAY TODAY THAT THE SAME HAND THAT TOUCHED THE HAND OF PETER'S MOTHER-IN-LAW WILL TOUCH AND RESTORE YOUR LIFE TO SERVE HIM AND SERVE THE WELFARE OF OTHERS.
IN JESUS PRECIOUS NAME !
JESUS IS LORD !
