NEVER BE A BEGGAR
According to Scriptures, it is contrary to the covenant for the righteous (the redeemed of the Lord) to live as a beggar.
David makes it clear in Psalms 37:25, "I have been young, and [now] am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread."
Who is a beggar ? According to the dictionary, a beggar is a person, typically a homeless one, who lives by asking for money or food.
WHY BEGGING IS CONTRARY TO THE COVENANT?
1) Begging makes one to lose respect from others and lose his voice in the society.
2) Begging makes one to live as a liability.
3) To live as a beggar means to live as someone who is not adding value to others.
4) It is impossible to be a beggar and be happy at the same time.
5) To be a beggar is to live contrary to the principles of the kingdom.
6) Begging makes one to live focused more on what to get from others than what to give to others.
7) Beggars are given contemptuous names that kill their dignity
I WILL NEVER BE AND I WILL NEVER LIVE AS A BEGGAR ... WHAT TO DO?
1) BE DILIGENT AND NOT LAZY
In order for Paul to not beg bread or food from others, he made up his mind to be diligent and hardworking. That is what he says in 2 Thessalonians 3:8:
"Neither did we eat any man’s bread for nought; but wrought with labour and travail night and day, that we might not be chargeable to any of you"
2) BE A GIVER
In our covenant with the Lord, we are ordained to be givers and not beggars. Living as a beggar is therefore anti-covenantal and a curse.
In Psalms 37:25, David, the covenantal man says,
"I have been young, and [now] am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread."
3) STOP HAVING DELIGHT IN FREE LUNCH IN LIFE
In 2 Thessalonians 3:8, the same Paul says again
"Neither did we eat any man's bread for nought"
CONCLUSION
TO WHOEVER READS THIS MESSAGE TODAY, I DECLARE :
- NO ONE WILL EVER BE A BEGGAR STARTING FROM YOU TO THE GENERATIONS AFTER YOU ...
- THE LORD IS RESTORING YOUR FINANCIAL DIGNITY ...
- THE LORD IS PROVIDING JOB TO THE JOBLESS ...
- THE LORD IS LIFTING YOU UP FROM THE TRASH HEAP IN ORDER TO MAKE YOU SIT WITH NOBLES (1 Samuel 2:8)
- THE LORD IS OPENING YOUR EYES TO SEE THE WELL THAT WILL BE THE SOURCE OF PROVISION FOR YOU, FOR YOUR HOUSEHOLD AND FOR THE KINGDOM (Genesis 21:19)
MAKE IT YOUR PRAYER IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST!
