I AM ABLE TO HELP YOU, SAYS THE LORD. DO YOU BELIEVE?
Reading : Mark 6: 5-6
WHAT DOES IT MEAN "GOD IS ABLE"?
God is called "Almighty" in His Word. In the New Testament, the Greek word for Almighty is the word "pantokrator" which comes from "pas" meaning "all" and "kratos" meaning "power, force or impact."
If you look up the word able, it means having necessary power, skill, resources, or qualifications.
When we say, “God is able,” we are actually saying that God has the power, skill, resources, and qualifications to handle whatever situation we might face. God is able means that "God is all powerful".
In our text today, we read the following in Mark 6: 5:
"And he could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk, and healed [them]."
How can we explain and understand the fact that the very same Jesus who raised the dead, changed water into wine, opened the eyes of the blind, opened the ears of the deaf, untied the tongue of the dumb, walked on the water, commanded the wind to be silent, is now not able to perform any miracle?
The reason behind Jesus' inability is not that he was deficient or was not able. The reason is because of the unbelief. We read it in Mark 6:6,
"And he was astonished at their unbelief."CONCLUSION
As it is written in Hebrews 2:18, "Jesus is able to help others when they are tempted.", Jesus is telling you today,
I am able to help you pay the fee...
I am able to help you walk in victory ...
I am able to help you heal from that wound ...
I am able to help you get out of this addiction ...
I am able to help you bring this man back you ...
I am able to help you overcome that challenge ...
The reason why many don't experience the help from above in their lives, it is not because God is not able. It is because their unbelief.
The same way Jesus asked the two blind men in Matthew 9:28, "DO YOU BELIEVE THAT I AM ABLE?", the same question Jesus is asking you today, "DO YOU BELIEVE THAT I AM ABLE TO HELP YOU?"
PRAYER AGAINST THE SPIRIT OF UNBELIEF
Are you struggling with unbelief in your heart ? Pray to deal with it today in the Name of Jesus Christ
PRAYER 1 | Pray the Father to forgive you and deliver you from the spirit of unbelief because it limits the manifestation of his power in your life.
Pray with Matthew 13:58 "And he did not do many miracles in this place because of their unbelief."
PRAYER 2 | Pray the Father to forgive you and deliver you from the spirit of unbelief because it limits the manifestation of your spiritual authority over evil spirits.
Pray with Matthew 17:20 And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.
PRAYER 3 | Pray the Father to forgive you and deliver you from the spirit of unbelief because it makes your heart hard.
Pray with Mark 16:14 "Afterward he appeared unto the eleven as they sat at meat, and upbraided them with their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they believed not them which had seen him after he was risen."
PRAYER 4 | Pray the Father to forgive you and deliver you from the spirit of unbelief because it exposes you to divine wrath and places you under divine judgment.
Pray with John 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
Pray with John 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
SO SHALL IT BE!
JESUS IS LORD!
